the problem is occasional , but so far from rare :)
I'm not sure about the debug mode mode into MP but I'll try

no clues with that log? I tried to read it, there is no explanation about the references about 1600x900 display into it. I choose the 1920x1080 display (display2).

Maybe it's because of the name (but with debug log, i hope it will give more information) Generic .... maybe you could try to rename those display from windows.

Aahaha . typical IT guys solution  but a little bit dangerous for the regedit modify....

(I'm a software engineer and I'm the champion of the world for these kinds of workaround.. so no problem... :))

Imho, as I said before could be better if MP use the display order (main , secondary) not the names and not the order of them 1,2 and so on.

Ok so the problem is quite serious. those names are the defaults. on a Windows 10 and Amd card based

You have to forget the names!

for example another tips for you ,. in another scenario, btw the intial one, that I prefer I start MP by script on the Full HD device (1920x1080 as main) but I disable the secondary / extended monitor (the 1600x900). There are no reason to keep on that monitor playing a film (2h). So when MP swap wrongly to a disabled monitor the disaster is unavoidable

I'll go to Rome for work until Saturday, I'll try soon as possible

I don't understand if these options for watchdog are the same if I start watchdog by external link, Because it's not working.

edit: sorry "if it crashes...". now I read it

No problem for the first MP use (note that I updated to v1.12.0.26!).

I'll keep attention also about a weird and annoying frames lost I noticed with the MP since I migrated my system to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1, But it is not frequent, often one or two times in a hour but sometimes without. I tried the software decoding and dxva2 either so could be related to the rendering.

But with the last play there are no problems at all.

Under Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 MP was always absolutely perfect about smoothing play footage with any refresh rate, so I'm quite perceptive and fussy, I'm sorry, but I like MP since a long time for its quality features ;)

    For sure :
MP can't handle when a device (GPU) is disable.
For example, you have 2 GPU(s) and MP start on first GPU, if for some reason the driver crash or something MP can't recover it, i didn't succeed to recreate D3D pointer along with C++ and C#.
But that's case is different from your case because it's not the driver that crash, it's only monitor or TV turned off.
Normally with the second option :

It should not relay on monitor turned off and on. But we have surely a bug in that :)
