I have found a huuuuge bug.

An example: When playing music, you can go to watch TV without stopping the music first. The problem is that eventTrigger (nice name, who came up with that?) does not trigger an event for the music being stopped, but only for the TV being started.

So when listening to music and starting a video while listening music, does not trigger an event for that the music has stopped playing. It should trigger 2 events in this case:
1. music stop
2. video play

Would it also be possible to have this plugin as server side plugin so that he could send events like:
"recording started/end" "epg grabbing started/ended" or something like this?

Would be really cool.

I would use it to automatically import data for my MyFilms database directly after recording something.

Just spent a day upgrading all my systems from MP 1.0.2 to 1.2.2, long overdue! At the same time I replaced TellstickPause with eventTrigger in three of my clients, that have Tellsticks. Works beautifully, love the plugin!

However, I have found a bug: When playing recorded TV, pressing Play, Pause and Stop generate corresponding Music.Play, Music.Pause and Music.Stop in EventGhost, rather than Recording.Play etc. Starting a recorded TV file by pressing OK generates the correct Recording.Play event.

In the MP.log mediatype is logged as Recording, so it is probably just a bug in formatting the EventGhost message string. Let me know if you need more info to recreate.

Hi Micke, I'll look into it! Could you just do me a small favor? Since I don't have a TV Card in my test PCs and I'm not using the TV functionality of MediaPortal at this time, it's a bit difficult for me to reproduce the problem. So could you please send me log files of a session in which all you do is load mediaportal, start playing a recording, pause it, stop it and then exit mediaportal.
I'd like to take a look at the logs so I could see what's going on...

Hey, I have the same issue. I'm sure it worked before since I used it to turn on my lights after stopping recordings for a long time. Perhaps MP 1.2.2 changed something regarding recording playback? And I'm using For the Record 1.6.1.0 Beta 2 if that has anything to do with it.
BTW Recording.Play still works for me but I get a Music.Stop event when stopping.

Thanks to Micke here I already found a solution for this. It seems as if this is a problem with MediaPortal, but I have a workaround none-the-less. I'll have a new version out with these fixes in the next few days.

hi i dont understand how to configure eventghost. i selected the corect path, but i dont get any events displayed in eventghost (start to play music, videos, etc)

Is there a how to how to use this plugin?
