I still don't get it. Any volume change is caused by you, using the remote or the keyboard, right? So why would MP be better at handling it than EG? If MP knows there has been a change, EG knows as well. All you need to do is work some more on your EG tree. For instance, to handle the standby issue, you can have an EG macro triggered when the PC wakes up that sends an unmute to the amp and the PC, making sure they are in sync. You can also have a EG macro that is triggered by Windows right before the standby occurs, which contains whatever actions you need to make sure your system is in a known state.

    So to break it down into points;
    1) I seem to have a bug with the checkmark in video duration in the plugin settings. I'll look into that.
    2) It doesn't work with ISOs at all. Not sure how to add support for that but I'll look into it...

    Thanks for the report.

    :D

    Hi,

    1) This is what I was thinking too.
    2) Perhaps, but I don't know. Is anyone else able to see Play, Pause, and Stop events when mounting ISOs or MKVs?

    Thanks for the plugin!

Test build that'll hopefully solve some mix-ups with the events. See if helps you, if not - please send me clean and detailed mediaportal logs so I could check it out more thoroughly.

    Hi,
I'm trying to use EventTrigger and EventGhost (latest version) to dim my IR controlled lights when a movie starts and raise them when paused or stopped. Unfortunately, I'm having trouble getting EventTrigger to work with 1.2.2. Logs are attached for trying to play an MP3 and a couple DVDs in ISO format. Events were triggered and shown in EventGhost for Music as explained below. Events for playing the ISOs were not show in EventGhost.

Regarding the Music events...I noticed an earlier post someone indicated the Play event wasn't occurring. I experience this for Music if the "Event Length" is anything greater than zero. I set it to zero because the plugin configuration wouldn't remember when the check box was deselected. When I entered the plugin configuration, there was that pesky check mark.

Regarding ISOs (and MKVs too), I couldn't see any events in EventGhost. I could see the ISO being mounted, but no Play, Pause, or Stop events. I am able to see Video events for my MP4 videos.

    Regards,
    Doug

I have no problems with ISOs. Play, Pause and Stop all work as expected, so you don't need to add any specific support for that. Once mounted, the ISO is just seen as any other video file by MP. The events I get are Main.Mediaportal.Video.Play, Video.Pause and Video.Stop. This is with MP 1.2.2 and using Daemon Tools to mount ISOs. Mkvs also work fine. Doug, you must have a problem with your setup.

Just a thought: have you added .iso, .img and .mkv in the Video Extensions section of the MP Videos configuration? They are not there by default and not used by Moving Pictures, but needed for MP Videos. Maybe that's what eventTrigger needs as well?

I had .mkv, but not .img and .iso. I now see events for .mkvs (strange, given that .mkv was in my list). I still can't see events for ISOs and MP is occasionally crashing on ISOs when using EventTrigger. I suppose I'll just have to change all my ISOs over to MKVs, :(

Ok, I'll try to clarify a bit.

If you play uncompressed audio Stereo PCM volume control information is send through the digital connection from PC to AMP (receiver) and things work as spected, but if you play compressed multichannel audio like AC3 or DTS, digital connections bandwidth is not enough and volume information isn't transmitted (only 100% volume). Al people having receivers well know that volume of films with multichannel audio can't be controlled with windows remote or kb and pick up their amp remotes to do that directly. Eventghost includes plugins to control external audio amps of Onkyo, Pioner, Cambridge audio... where volume control is directly managed by the amp (turning volume control wheel up or down). in fact a really powerful feature when MP audio is passtrought the external amp giving the best audio quallity possible. In this scenario, Windows volume changes are lost and that's the reason for my request.

    Thanks
    A
