Just out of interest I'm asking: do you have screen resolution also in full HD ie. 1920 x 1080 or something lower ?

you guys are curious...

some words before: I really spent many hours (better to say, days and weeks) in my systems to get the best out of it. so everybody with stuttering, please try lower resolutions.

my DVB-T system runs with 1920x1080
my DVB-C system runs with 1920x1080 (but this one has sometimes some problems with LiveTV HD, but also in some recordings... have to investigate further, if the signal is the problem)
my DVB-S system runs with 1280x720 (because the TV is only HDready )

I am currently testing around with CoreAVC. When I trust in this great community, then CoreAVC will make LiveTV bit better with ION...

will report back, what CoreAVC does...

The question is: are you able to watch 1080i content at 1920x1080 resolution? Because I'm not .

yes, I can...

with DVB-C it sometimes stutters, but as I said, I have to investigate if the signal is the problem. Stuttering is sometimes there, with 1280x720 and 1920x1080.

example:
watching the football game germany vs. england, everything was smooth. but the game germany vs. argentina was not always smooth.... (as i can remember, football was broadcasted in 720p; screen resolution 1920x1080)

Here in italy football games are broadcasted in 1080i and give a lot of stutter if I output to 1920x1080 with ION. 720p broadcasts are fine since they do not require deinterlacing.

tried CoreAVC... unfortunately, nothing for me... bought and recognized, it won't do the work I expected

I think I will stick with "normal" codecs.

btw:
I recognized massive differences between RC3 and RC5... seems as the TVserver needs more resources... can anyone confirm?

Initially, could be that the thumbnail maker (mtn.exe) is creating thumbs of your recordings (again), experienced that also, sometimes....

Nope... no mtn is running... unfortunately, SD is now stuttering too.....

it's very tricky.. perhaps it's a hardware issue, cause some recordings have stuttering too...

Have you tried another audio codec then MPC? I remember I had some problems with MPC audio codec ages ago. I now use ffdshow.

i have never had problems with MPC audio codec... anyway, will give it a try later on... thx

for livetv i found sth... i forgot, that i set the timeshift in a network share... got it bit better, with setting to local drive

EDIT:
don't think it's MPC audio problem. older recordings or other video files (SD/HD, p or i) play fine with same configuration.
