Did some more testing: Installed a debug version of LAV 0.44 which saves a log after each use. When trying a h264 tv stream I got a error message and MP crashed saving logs. Not sure if something can be read from this though, but here it is.

This is h264 TV with LAV 0.44 Quicksync and TSreader_nostop44

Could you try the TsReader.ax version here -> https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/841565-post3.html <-. It is MP 1.2.2 TsReader.ax with two of the mods from v44 added, so it would be interesting to know if it works with LAV QuickSync ?

Ive tested too. For me it is with some version nearly the same (044, orig1.2.2, 841565-post3). Black Screen on HD and sometimes on SD but on both without crashing.

    With DXVA2 enabled it works.

Tested LAV 0.45 with QS with this and the original TsReader. Works with mpeg2 but no response with h264. No crash, just no picture. Logs shows starting TV in h264, change to a mpeg2-channel and back to a h264 channel.

I don't think the QS decoder author use MP. If a debug version of TsReader could write the video stream to a file and the problem could be reproduced without using MP, it would be possible for the QS developer to check it.

Just to summarise - all versions of TsReader do not work with LAV QS decoder and H264 - correct ?

olavm - can you post the logs using your debug version of LAV decoder and standard MP 1.2.2 TsReader - I just want to see if it crashes at the same place.

    Hi Tony,

I did my tests again and I observed the following:

I used only LAV filters (Audio and Video) in my tests with Quicksync acceleration enabled.

original TSReader: Video and Audio are fine on MPEG2 and h264
noModv44: V+A fine on MPEG2, black screen with sound on h264 (same applies vor v41 and v43)
your mod from page 3 of the other thread: all fine on MPEG2, black screen and no sound on h264

In case of your modification switching to a h264 channel while on full screen results in a black screen with a static/frozen OSD. But MP is still responsive in the background, I can switch channels or stop TV and return to the main menu. There is no crash at any time.

I attached all fresh logs of my tests with two of your mods and the original TSReader.ax. In all cases I turned TV on with a MPEG2 channel, switched to a h264 channel and switched back again. Maybe it helps.

BTW: Thank you for your effort :)

That is correct, all latest experimental versions of TSreader but the original with MP gives no picture in h264 using LAV Quicksync. ffdshow quicksync is ok, and other LAV video codecs are ok.

There must have been something wrong my LAV 0.44 debug version, everything crashed all the time, and I can't reprduce when I had it working. This means my previous log with LAV 0.44 debug is incorrect. Sorry.
