After reading grubi's post I thought I should try a different tsreader as well. With v44, as reported here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...er-development-102693/index35.html#post839439 the picture freezes for a second or two when starting, skipping back or forward, or changing channel. With v41 this doesn't happen but I still get a short audio dropout when starting or changing channel. With the 1.2.1 version I don't seem to have any of these problems.

Obviously there might be other issues that crop up with further testing, but it seems best out of the three for me so far. I only use SD (Freeview) TV though, so can't test for any problems with HD TV.

AW: Re: AW: Experimental TsReader development

No sure if it is of any use, but I tried a lot of the different versions available here over a long time and I have to say that for me the unaltered version of MP 1.2.1 still works best (installed on MP 1.2.2 of course)

Cheers.

Out of interest, what's better about the MP 1.2.1 version ?

Tony

Fastes zapping speed, smooth playback directly after zapping, no hangs between SD <-> HD zapping

Cheers

I actually find the opposite :) (but I may be using different codecs, TV channels, video card etc)

Are you saying you get hangs when going between SD <-> HD (i.e. black screens etc ) with noStopMod44 ?

Is this single-seat or client-server, MP TV server or 4TR ?

Anyone got a version of 1.2.1 tsreader that I can test, just to see if there is any difference to Tony's modified ones when actually used, must say at one time I had 1 second channel changes, which seem to have got lost some how, but suspect main culprit is Argus\FTR.

I just tried 1.2.1 compared to mod44. 1.2.1 does seem a little faster actually. Do you want logs? I can post them tomorrow.

    OK, yes.

    General comment to everyone

The reason this thread exists is mostly because there were problems (for some users) with the MP 1.2.1 TsReader.ax (and earlier versions).

Allowing those bugs to continue is not good when we have fixes for them, even if it means channel changes might be a little bit slower for some people - my view is that we have to prioritise reliability over speed.

The 'noStopMod' versions are basically test-beds for bug fixes and experiments - some of those mods will be ported over to the MP release versions eventually (e.g. the current 'Area51' version has two of the bug fixes), but probably not all of them - even I'm not sure if all of them are actually improvements or not :)

    Logs attached.

    Regards

The TsReader logs in both .rar files are from version 'v0.4.12' - this is the MP 1.2.1 version.... ;)

    DOH

I switched tsreader.ax without restarting MP. I guess that does not work.

Here is the correct log file. Does seem like mod44 is a good second slower than 1.21. 3 sek vs 2 sek

    regards
    Jacob
