Codecs are pretty "stupid" in that sence that they just process the input data and then output the result. So seeking shouldn't affect in the decoding results.
Thanks for your input as always tourettes. If it is not codecs, tuner or TsWriter, that leaves the streaming server, TsReader and renderers. Do you have a suspicion about the cause?

Seek operations will cause a downstream flush, which should clean out all the old data from the decoder/mixer/renderer (effectively resetting the pipeline), so I wouldn't rule out the video decoder misbehaving (especially as the PDVD decoder seems less 'stupid' than many others ;)).

Also once a new video sample has been created and sent to the decoder by TsReader.ax the original data is discarded - TsReader couldn't loop back several seconds (which is what seems to be happening) even if it wanted to - the data isn't available any more....

Knowing if the audio also loops back should tell us quite a lot.

It might be interesting to try using UNC paths instead of RTSP and see if the issue still happens.

    Thanks everybody for your response.

I can confirm that I run SAF 6, with PowerDVD12 as my TV-decoder.

The sound does not loop at all - only video is corrupted - Sound Decoder is LAVF

I will try switching to LAVF - But I can already see now, that I have a increase in frame dropping(~5%) & CPUUsage:-S

It sounds like DXVA isn't enabled in LAV video (it defaults to software-only decoding) - open the LAV video config and try setting 'Hardware Acceleration' to 'DXVA2 Native'

Ok, sorry. I have now attached the log files from debug mode. Thanks

    Is Tony now available?

Yesterday it was very strange: Watched a prgram for about 1 hour, which worked, then playback stopped and after I press stop and start the program again it worked then for only 20 seconds and after that for several minutes again. So the freeze occurs randomly and in a few case the system says that timeshift could not be started, but after I try again it works again for several minutes.

    It is really frustrating actually.

There is nothing obvious in the logs.

    Do recordings play OK ?

What are your system specs ?

You may be having network problems, so if this is a single-seat system, have you tried using the -> MS loopback adaptor <- as the network interface for TV server ?

The recordings I have, play without any issues, but also the recordings are not complete as the system freezes also for recordings.

My system is a win 7 32bit with Intel core I3 2100t and 4 GB RAM. This should be fairly enough.

this issue only occurs till I watch TV with a CI and an alphacrypt module (light).
I can imagine that the alphacrypt light has problems and I am waiting for a friend to borrow me his classic module (more features), to test it.

If this also does not work, I will test the loopback adaptor. But I think it is not a network issue, because I am using a ficed line with 50mbit and have no problems on this side.

    Thanks anyway!

If recording is also freezing/not completing then the problem is at the TV Server (TsReader.ax is not involved with recording, just playback).

Ok, thanks. So also the MS loopback adapter will not help, correct? Any other hints?

I will try a test with DVB viewer, to see if this is only related to mediaportal.
