Extension Installer V2 (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I downloaded the mpeInstaller.zip file and unzipped it. When I double click on MpeInstaller.exe it directly crashes with the standard windows error dialog.
OS is Vista64, tried with and without admin rights.

I made some improvement to the plugin and installer, now when installing via plugin, the installer use current skin background so no popup screen should shown (thx idea to DieBagger). Category support (named tags) in online view, the extension are grouped by the dev defined tags

Hi Dukus,

keeps getting better

A few suggestions:

• Add a "restart" button to the "My Extensions" plugin
• After installing a plugin, ask the user: "do you want to restart?" (see firefox)
• When I installed Tv Logos, after install I got a dialog (see image) and MediaPortal frooze (see image)
• W7 still doesn't work

I just tried on W7 and working for me with no problem (i use the latest SVN), so i need more feedback on w7

Edit: you are right, i forgot to activate UAC, i think is really hard to solve this problem, to run mpeinstaller via plugin, the the mediaportal need to be run in elevated mode and i think this not wanted, so for now only solution is to deactivate UAC

I made another version, now the w7 should work, but in start up will be asked for UAC confirmation. I add button for restart. The plugin code is hosted in mpei-plugin - Project Hosting on Google Code.

AW: Extension Installer V2

Hi dukus,

first also a big thanks for developing a new version of the MPE Installer. It is really a very important task.
I'm starting to do some test with my plugins right now.

Basicly it works so far for me (MPE Maker). Here are some of my whishes....

- Open a file directly on startup instead of new/ new skin
- Remember the last folder on Add Folder,Select Files
- Posiibility to select more then one file (Group & Files) for e.g. delete

I will do more test and see how far I can dig.

Thx for testing.
For 1.1 final we should have some extension in this new format. So i need help from devs to provide plugins and skins in this format and i glad to help if some help needed.
