Probably I am doing something terribly wrong, or I dont understand completely what to do, but mpeInstaller doesn't work for me.
I am on Windows 7 and have MediaPortal svn 24669. I unzipped mpeInstaller to the MediaPortal folder as instructed. Now I find (amongst others) MPInstaller.exe and mpeInstaller.exe there. When I click on MPInstaller.exe it works and the old (?) installer opens.
However when I click mpeInstaller.exe the installer opens, but the Installed Extensions and Known Extensions windows are empty and (even more annoying) I cannot close the installer the normal way anymore. I get an error saying:

"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close.
Could not find a part of the path 'C:\ProgramData\TeamMediaPortal\MediaPortal\\Installer\V2\InstallerSettings.xml' "

Moreover when I click Quit it does not close and I have to end through Task Manager.
What am I doing wrong ?

Update: Solved meanwhile. I had to install the MPEIPlugin.0.0.3.1.mpe1 as well !

How about adding plugins/Windows and plugins/process to template paths?

Hey, first of all: nice stuff this new extension installer. I'm curious how this tool will mature...

But I would like to report a little usability bug. I have my Vista HTPC desktop set up to show larger fonts (the 120 DPI option instead of the default 96 DPI). When I Do so, the MPEI installer shows partial banners for each plugin (the bottom part of each banner is cut off, even after I click one of them). Therefore the 'install' button is NOT shown for each plugin and I cannot install anything. (Since the install button is not included in the Tabbing-order, I can't use THIS workaround either) Temporarily resetting the font size to 96 DPI is an option but this requires a VISTA reboot each time....

I am using MPEI version 0.0.4.0

Is there a standalone version to download?

I have just installed 1.1 Beta after weeks of problems with my PC, and don't really fancy having to do it again. It's to get the latest version of Youtube.fm installed as i keep getting 'Invalid Package!' when trying to run the MPE1 file.

    Cheers
    Kev

I've created three groups with an attached folder to each (containing different TV logo .pngs). In the install section I want the user to be able to select only one of the three groups and those files should then be copies to ...\thumbs\tv\logos.

Image Radio button Section seems to be usable only for two different choices.
Tree View Selector seems to be check boxes only. Can I change this to radio buttons somehow?

I'm using MediaPortal Extension Maker that comes with MP 1.1.0 RC1.

And a small request: please remove the annoying toolStripButton1 tooltip :)

    Hi,

    I am using MP 1.1.0 RC1 with MPEI 0.0.4.1 (Win7)
In folder "Known extentions" is always showed 3 plugins - MPEIPlugin? MusicBrainzRating? YouTube.FM, even after downloading online update info.
Only after installing local plugin, folder "Known extentions" is refreshed with new plugins.

    Regards,
    Siva.
