    Hi,

After starting the TVSErver Config I get the message: "TV service is not running. Start it now?". I choose yes, and after a few minutes the attached window pops up.

I did a fresh Vista SP1 and MP install. The first time a strarted de TV server config there was no problem. It occurered after doing a scan. Yesterday I had the same problem. It did a new install (on a clean Vista image) to solve it, but now the problem comes back!

Attached you'll find the TV Server log files.

    Many thanks in advance!

I've done a fresh Vista Install

Well not realy a help, but since today i have the same problem. MMC tells me that the service is already running but the TV-Server configuration pops up with the same message.

And same here reinstallation didnt fixed that.

Maybe it helps somehow. Yesterday some Vista patches were installed automaticly. So maybe the .Net changed a bit and that causes the behaviour.

I also have the same problem. Yesterday it worked fine but today I tried to startup MP but it hang, so I restarted my HTPC and tried to start MP with no success. Then I tried to open tv server config but it didn't come up, and also told me that tv server was not running, but it did.

I tried to reinstall everything including MS SQL. But the tv server config doesn't work anymore. Please help!

I also got the error message that Ortelius got.

Same here! I think, the reason is a Microsoft Update today! After resetting to a "Restore Point" from yesterday and reinstallibg the TVServer all is working fine!

    Best regards

I think i know what the problem is.
When updating to the latest windows defender defenitions, it seems as it recognizes a change that is made in the hosts file as a threat. But it's not. So all I had to do to get Tvserver working fine again was to:
    open
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
and open the file named: hosts
Then make sure that it looks like this:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost

Now Tvserver should work just fine!
