    Hi,

Since I was experiences other problems as well, I went back to a previous "restore point". Run Windows Update (Defender and .Net framework 3.5 SP1). (Also updated DirectX 9.0c). Than installed MP 1.0 and latest SVN. Configured both TV server and MP and everthing is working fine now!:)

Any way, all thanks for your help! :D

    Thanks danloe,
That fixed it for me too.
Having spent the past week messing around with Ubuntu (desparate for decent video editing for free), this is an oddly familiar type of task!

I did the same (clean install + windows update, then install MP) and now it's working fine again :)

    Hi,
I had the same problem. Many thanks for the fix. I think the problem was caused by a bug in a Windows defender defender definition file, which caused a false positive on changes to "hosts". Microsoft issued an update to fix it. I've had Defender throw up this error on a number of systems, but updating the definitions and then re-scanning made it go away. On XP it just seemed to throw up and error box, but it looks like on Vista it went ahead and "fixed" the problem! Either that or some other update from MS (perhaps to try and undo the earlier problem), reset the file. Whatever it seems to be working fine now... Once again many thanks for the quick fix...

I think i know what the problem is.
When updating to the latest windows defender defenitions, it seems as it recognizes a change that is made in the hosts file as a threat. But it's not. So all I had to do to get Tvserver working fine again was to:
    open
    C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
and open the file named: hosts
Then make sure that it looks like this:
    # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost
    ::1 localhost

Now Tvserver should work just fine!

    Very thanks !!!

I had lost more than 6 hours trying without sucess.

    Now I fixed it.
