Hello, I hope this isn't an already through-debated problem. I found some posts on remotly similar problems, but no solutions and perhaps it was another problem in the first place.

My problem occurs when I set up three recordings in the tv-guide, like this.
    Program A from 1000-1015
    Program B from 1000-1200
    Program C from 1130-1200

This should, as I see it, be possible with two tv-cards. But I always get conflict-symbol on the long program that's overlapping with the two other programs. Is this something that should be expected? I tried yesterday with 0.2.0.0 and with the newest SVN, but with no luck.

The result from this problem is some missing starts and a lot of exclamation marks.

I suppose this wil be different with the new engine, but it keeps me wondering if there might be a bug, one I could not manage to find in mantis.

Did you channel tune both cards, then did you combine.
Are all channels selected for both cards.
    Use MP setup for above

Andreas, could notice that bug already , a few month ago . Though i know how and why it happens , and where is the bug in the code. Couldn't find an easy and fast way to fix it, and.....just forgot it. Thanks taking it to our attention again.
Maybe it should be in Mantis, whatever i'll have a look on it .
    Thanks for reporting .

    Thanks for the swift replies!

I autotuned one card (don't remember which), and assigned all channels to both of them.

The system works just about perfectly all the time exept in the mentioned scenario. I just love the program, and awaits engine v3 with great anticipation!

    Thanks to all contributors!

As not seen your conflict myself, except if not tuned seperately, so may cause your problem or not.
Broceliande say's there is a known issue, but personally despite overlapping recordings, never seen a conflict warning, unless a card was not tuned correctly after reinstallation.

Paranoid, i guess you or anyone owning two cards would be easily able to reproduce that issue.
I could reproduce it with the very last svn.
To reproduce, a sketch will be better :
(I assume you are using two cards .)
Go to the Guide's screen and choose your recordings as following :
(2 shows on the same channel, and a third on another one )

    channel x : ------------SxxxxxE----------------SxxxxE---------------
    channel y : ----------------SxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxE-------------------

    S : show's starting time
    E : show's ending time
    - : timeline
x : the period we wanna record

Of course , the additional recording time before/after on channel x must not overlap.

Result : You get a false conflict on one of the 3 sheduled recordings

If you doubt , just give it a test

Can confirme the issue when using the above "draft" (or any overlapping recordings using 2 cards) from Broceliande & it gives a false message of a conflict between the recordings which shouldn't happen when using 2 or more cards, which all it's free & set to record on the channels.
This has been discussed in the team earlier, but unfortunately been forgotten.

    :D for testing & reporting bugs :D

    Regards
    Roy

I was just reading this post and then found another show to record, I am also getting the conflict. I have 1 show set up from 9 to 11 wich should be handled by my First card. Then I have 2 other shows from 9:30 to 10:00 and then 10:30 to 11:00 which should be handled by the second card. It is showing a conflict. Does anyone know the outcome of this? Will all my shows record or will it skip one of them?

I'm afraid that the show marked as conflicting won't ever start for now.
Hopefully we'll find a quick fix for that.
