    Hi 2BitSculptor,

I have introduced a new control with id 91919293 (see Wiki) that I hope solves your problem. With it you can control visibility using <visible>!control.isvisible(91919293)</visible> for deciding if fanart is available for current artist/video etc.

So new Beta 3.4 is available.

    best regards

    tried the new dll.

the fanart availability condition seems to be being ignored, so the no-fanart lyout isn't being displayed at all now. When a title with no fanart starts, the fanart image from the preceeding title and the labels for the new title are displayed in fanart view, until a new titlte with fanart starts.

Thanks for trying to fix this for me, I'm probably the only one to need to do this.

    Chuck

btw, the file-version info for the dll doesn't reflect the actual version.

    Hi,

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry but I'm not able to reproduce this. Can you please attach your xml file so that I can test.

    EDIT;
Never mind, I found the bug;)

    best regards

Hi Cul8er- first, the logic you outlined for music fanart download makes sense to me.

Second - I will also try the new visibility condition for no fanart as I have separate 'views' for many screens when no fanart is available, so thanks for that.

Third, since you are working on the music fanart, I was wondering if there was an easy way to enable that music fanart in other plugins. I am not sure how you have restricted the plugin - by window id? by property?

I have the fanart handler working well in Last.fm and MyLyrics as well as MyMusic. However, I could not get it working in Music Shares (as I mentioned previously). I also tried in Global Search (Details view), Smart Playlists and Music Videos without much success. Is that because they use properties other than #selecteditem for the artist name? I would like to use fanart handler in any plugin that displays music with an artist or currently playing artist name - like Youtube.fm for example. Any ideas?

still no joy with 3.5, still not getting non-fanart view in my MyMusicPlayingNow.xml (attached below). Fanart view layout remains with previous displayed fanart when non-fanart title plays. I can change the visibility of the #Play.Current.Thumb control to <visible>control.isvisible(91919293)</visible>, but it remains hidden behind the previous fanart image, and the non-fanart view layout displays (as expected)

also, .png fanart images are skipped, so are double digit numbered artist names (eg., David Cook-01.jpg or David Cook-12.jpg).

    Thanks for the effort!

    Chuck

    Hi Dadeo,

If you can make a list of plugins and what property in that plugin that holds artist I will add support.

    List like this.

    Plugin Property
    myMusic #selecteditem or #selecteditem
    myVideo #selecteditem

    best regards

cleared my cache. Deleted the old dll. dnld the new dll. copied it to my process folder. Started MP, went to MyMusic, started a playlist, went to PlayingNow.

still no happiness... same issue with not switching to non-fanart.

I checked MyMusic with cycling multiimage and fanart.... same issue when no fanart is available, the last displayed fanart image remains on the screen. When I stop the music, then fanart goes away and the multiimage begins as it should.

I don't know what else to try.

    frustrating,

    Chuck

    Hi 2BitSculptor,

Very strange. I downloaded your xml and at my system it switches between fanart and and none fanart and the layout also changes. Do you have anything in your error log?

    best regards

    hey cul8er,

I tried it on both my test system and my HTPC. Identical issue. It has to be something with my setup of MP on both machines.
All I can think of is that I'm using MP 1.0.2 (waiting for a stable 1.1 - I don't want to change anything until after the first of the year)

The old way of doing fanart works ... but no multiple artist images. So it looks like I'll just return to that method till later.

Thanks for all your effort on this, looking foreward to getting it working. You must not have slept much in the last few days, you seem to always be here.

    best regards,

    Chuck
