Further to my comments above about disabling EVR fixing the FF/RW preview issue... well it DID fix that issue, but it seems to cause random MP interface freezing when browsing through the menus.

Sometimes MP interface will just freeze, and sometimes I will get a black screen. Both require invoking task manager and killing the MP thread.

So I've gone back to EVR mode and no FF/RW preview. :-(

My best guess at the moment is that it's ATI driver related. (I've got 2 ATI cards, and the drivers have left me suspecting them each time I have graphical issues.)

I noticed one more thing... when FF/RW preview isn't working, the position time doesn't change either. However the little up/down arrow that indicates the current position on the timeshift timeline does move.

Incidentally I tried a couple of different mpeg codecs with EVR turned on, and the all resulted in no FF/RW preview.

Guys... all this talk about EVR, ATi drivers, and using a remote client to access files is totally irrelevent to MY installation. I installed MP 1.0 on a stand-alone system as a Server/Client because I thought that was how you were supposed to -- that MP 1.0 no longer had the in-built TV engine.

There's a far more BASIC problem as I'm running the same system I was under 0.2.3.0 using "VRM9 exclusive" -- not EVR (requires Vista or .net3), with NVidia 7050PV on-board graphics -- not ATi, and a single box system -- not questioning Client-accessed performance.

I don't know WHY the operational characteristics of MP 1.0 are so screwed up on this, and I'm trying to assist (by reporting) but if it's no better than this I may have no choice but to revert to my tried-and-true 0.2.3.0 I also find that various TV shows I record are screwed up -- some I can't playback AT ALL (even under WMP, or VLC Player), others play tricks with the timeline (whether accessed via MyTV or MyVideo) and can't even be SKIPPED without hanging MP forcing a Windows-CLOSE from the toolbar as FULLSCREEN playback is frozen!

I have MP1.0 running on my server as server / client. The fast forward does work, just not on remote network clients.
I found that on the client / server , try diable the hardware acceleration of the video card, or just use the MPV codec.

That should fix it for you.

    Settle down dude.

We're trying to find the common issue by providing thoughts on the same observed problem on different set installations. It IS relevant to your installation, as we are seeing the same behaviour on diferent setups. If we can figure out the common cause then perhaps we can all get a resolution.

If you dont' want help/advice/opinions on the forum, just log a bug report.

I'm trying to help and thought the core team was looking on here as well to assist with bug identification.

Lately I've noticed the timeline across the top uses the standard Green "current <---> remaining" when watching a .mpg file via MyVideos but the Red/Green/Yellow time-shifted format if viewed from MyTV. OK, so this is more of a question about WHY does entry into g-Player present different gui for the same file than why FF and RW don't perform as they used to using the dvr-ms container.

But if watch live tv i can pause and then forward and the picture is refreshed. And after that also the picture in a recording is refreshed. Can anybody reproduce the behaviour?
