Seems like it is for zipping/unzipping files

hi im using media portal 1.2.3 and i cant get the file explorer to install, tried both version in the op

You need this version:

In the plugin folder is a folder "windows": put it to e.g (depends were you installed Mediaportal) C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\Mediaportal\plugins\
and a folder language (inside config): put it to C:\ProgramData\Team Mediaportal\Mediaportal\

Now it should work.

when I copy a file from an usb stick to my htpc I have to wait until the file is copied. Then I can close file explorer again. Why it's not possible to copy a file in the background?
