in iMon manager there is an update page, the firmware version is listed there.
your problem may be different but I have had issues with my VFD at various times (sometime related to trying to talk to it) where it will get into a strange state (displaying all sorts of rubish) and the only way to get it out is to disconnect its power completly, so try turing your PC off and disconnecting the power of a minuite. I don't think I have seen minidisplay actualy do this, but it seemes to get very close so it doesn't realy surprise me. just turning off your PC leaves standby power and the iMon won't reset, you need to kill the power completly.
I don't think mine has an alarm icon, it's not an LCD is it. if it is feal free to try but I don't expect mp2imon to work.

Thanx for all the posts.

I have firmware 0x380102 and imon 7.20.0502. It is detected as a LCD HID OEM.

When I kill Imon, it still doesn't work sadly. My only concern, is to make the display work. Remote is not really important, as I use a PS3 remote.

This solution works well om my TT Mozart SX. Don't need the iMon program at all.

there is only one little hick-up. I can't shutdown or reboot whist the MP2iMon program is running.

Ah, I know I can fix that. I use hibernation and havn't noticed but now that you mention it I can see why. I'll post again when I have fixed and tested it.

some of you other people who don't want the remote, doesn't minidisplay work OK by its self there? or does it interfear with non imon related remotes too?

Ok, fixed. just update and you should be able to shutdown normaly

Thanks. My firmware is oxa1. Is this OK/current? If not, how do I go about updating?

Disconnecting the PC also cleared my problem. However, minidisplay always seems to work for a while but as soom as I power down or shut down MP, the screen stops reacting (it is now displaying nothing but is powered on). Even when working, I find the minidisplay pretty useless as I can only read it if lying right in front of the TV. Anything over 1m away and it is unreadable.

By the way, I'm only trying to get something readable on the screen (just a nice clock would be enough). The remote is working fine.

the firmware can not be upgraded AFAK
the vesion should not matter but nobody who has got it working has confirmed they have different firmware to me, guitpetj said thairs worked but it sounds like the case is very simmalar to mine (therefor most likely the same firmware).

if you just want a clock, you can just not use the minidisplay plugin at all and just set imon manager to do that, there may be a better way but if you set frontview to auto mode and uncheck all the options it will just diaplay a clock.

Can anybody tell me where the advantage is? I use IMon, Keyboardplugin + Minidisplay at the moment and it works fine if you select restart / reload Imon Software after MP in Minidisplay plugin.

just an alternate hack I supose, and that nobody knew about your way.
I havn't tried that yet but your saying if I just check the "force restart after driver start" checkbox I will be able to use the display and have my remote work at the same time? in all my searches I never come accross that before, an aparently none of the other people on this thread have either (probably around 60 people judging form the viewed count on the download).
I'm not familier with the keyboard plugin, is that a standard plugin or something else?

one advantage it may have is that I can now display a clock, but that is a persional preference (and realy not very significunt).

If you just want a clock... disable minidisplay, set frontview to auto mode and uncheck all the options it will just display a clock.

Yes, this was my previous setup. It showed a scrolling time and date, and if you pressed a remote button the function was displayed (right arrow, esc., etc). But it was difficult to read at a distance, even after playing with the contrast, different fonts, etc. Also, the scrolling time and date meant it was difficult to see the time instantaneously, even if the readability issue had been solved.

Have you another solution with iMon that shows only the time (i.e. static, not scrolling) and a readable font?
