Thx for the work.

But sadly I can't get it to work.

I've got the same problem as Gru had in his first post. I'm running Imon 7.20 and fiirmware 0x3801.

Is there another way to make the display work?

you do have the DLL from the updated download don't you? you also need to make sure nothing else is trying to control the VFD, such as frontview. frontview can be either off or set to plugin mode, if it is set to anything else that would casue problems.

if none of that helps, you could try downloading the file from :::confused:oundGraph::: Innovation of Human on Digital Network (the dll in there is the same one I use)
that is the API I use and if the test program in there works then so should mine, if it doesn't work either then there not much I can do about it

I'm now using the IRSS 1.4.2.
This setup and including MP2IMon completes my HTPC! Now I got a working Display and remote :D

Why you need MP2Imon for this setup ?

    Simone

Because in the past I only get one thing running correctly: either the remote (with IRSS) or the display (with minidisplay). Both (IRSS and minidisplay) wasn't working at the same time. (I think the problem has something to do with minidisplay needs imon manager running/frontview set to never and IRSS stops the imon manager application when starting up. I'm not sure about this, so please don't nail me down on this.)

Now I got minidisplay (set to matrix orbital) and MP2IMon for the display and IRSS for the remote. And IMON manager isn't running at all. It works for me :)

What are you using for remote and display?

    greetings,
    Jo

i have the same problem here. i purchased a Nox live! case.. nice case, and low priced, little low quality, but ok for now.

the case contains an oem imon vfd with volume, en player buttons, and an imon pad remote. i can't also connect to the vfd with the mp2imon tool. the vfd connection is also checked unchecked.

    frontview is disabled

do you have to check 3rd party uses driver, or not?

    kinda stuck here

btw. mediaportal rules... first forum post i think, so the support you get from just reading the forum is stunning!!!
als mediaportal is so great, that everything you think you would like plugged in, just exist.

keep up the good work people!!!!

I have tested a few situations people have mentioned and what I have found is:
I have upgraded imon twice and it didn't make any difference, therefor the imon version doesn't seem to matter (just go for the latest).
I can close iMon and have it still work, so if it doesn't work try closing imon completly first. you only need imon for the remote, so try without to start with.
you should leave 3rd party uses driver unchecked, MP2iMon works either way but the remote will not if you check that box.
my firmware version shows as 0xffffffff, I don't think that version matters but I can't realy test that. (edit: chemelli now pointed out my error in the next post, it is actualy 0x87)
my case is a "Thermaltake Mozart".
MP2iMon only tries to connect once while its is starting. if you change something you may need to restart the program (exit from the systray, the close in the test window just closes the test window).
don't start 2 copies of MP2iMon at once, that would almost definatly cause problems.

so CypherMK and oc-lord, try closing imon completly first and then starting mp2imon or the test program.

This happens when the driver cannot initialize the hardware or the hardware is in a "already in use" status.

ah, thanks. my firmware version is actualy 0x87

I have just updated the download (on the first post). I have slightly changed the way it connects to the VFD, I think the way I were doing it before was right and it now is not but it works on mine either way, maybe it will now work on some other peoples (probably won't make any difference).

I also added an "add time" checkbox. if you check this mp2imon will place a clock on the top right of the VFD whenever it will fit.

Where, or how, do I find my firmware version? I've been playing with minidisplay which seems to have cocked everything up. My display now only shows a flashing time (the Alarm icon is also lit) and nothing I do seems to alter this. I'm thinking that there is an iMon driver or firmware issue but can't find out how to start diagnosing this.
