Fix 1 :

Step 1 : Open Notepad
Step 2 : Copy & Paste the following, exactly like it is, in Notepad ( don't alter it ) :

NET STOP "IRServer"
NET START "IRServer"

Step 3 :
Click "File"
Click "Save"

At the bottom of the window,
There is "Save as" , click on the right of it on " Textdocuments (*.txt) "
then choose "All Files"
Filename -----> Typ this : IRServer.cmd
you can choose whatever you like, as long as it ends in .cmd
Click "Save"

When you've saved it, you can make a shortcut and place it on your desktop.

Right click the shortcut,
then "properties", it should show the "shortcut tab",
then click "advanced"
then click the box "run as administrator"
click apply and ok

All you have to do now is double click the shortcut and the UAC window will popup.
click "yes"

There you go, the server restarts.

UPDATE : Looks like it worked only once.

But I found what the problem is, it has something to do with administrator privileges.

Haven't figured out how to fix this.

Stay tuned...

I'm still looking for a better fix,
but a quick fix would be to
click with your right mouse button
on the .cmd and then click "run as administrator"

But there must be a way to make it start with windows automaticly.
When I find it I'll let you know.

You can also create a shortcut and inside shortcut properties click advanced and the run as administrator.
You then have a .lnk file, if you double click that, it works,
but when you put it in the startup folder, it doesn't start with windows :(

I'm now testing it by putting the .lnk in the registry in

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

I think I found the problem.

The first 2 times, I had the receiver plugged in when starting my pc.
    2 times the remote worked.

The 3rd time I plugged it in after the startup of windows.
    The remote didn't work.

The 4th & 5th time plugged the receiver back in before I start the pc
    The remote worked.

The .lnk doesn't work, even when you put in the registry "CurrentVersion\Run"

I know this because when I double click on the .lnk, the command prompt comes up,
and does what it's supposed to do.
Now I see no such thing when windows starts.
I guess Windows 7 Home Premium, doesn't like to start .cmd and .lnk o_O

So the solution is to keep that receiver plugged in at all times !!!!!!!!!!

Actually my HTPC, has still Windows XP, with receiver plugged in at all times.

I'm testing Mediaportal and IRSS, etc... on my Laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium

I want to be prepared, when I upgrade to Windows 7, that everything works.
