I'm now deleting the registry entry and the shortcut file,
to see if it still works after that.[DOUBLEPOST=1355863265][/DOUBLEPOST]Now restarting pc with receiver plugged in...[DOUBLEPOST=1355863410][/DOUBLEPOST]still works, all that work for nothing...[DOUBLEPOST=1355863566][/DOUBLEPOST]Ah well, the Ir Server.cmd can still be used,
if there comes a time that the service fails to start.
So not a total wast of time this searching for a fix.
Thanks alot for your help [DOUBLEPOST=1355863734][/DOUBLEPOST]the ir server - service, probably detects if the receiver is plugged in,
if it's plugged in then the remote will work
if it's not plugged in, the service has to be restarted after plugging in.
Sound logical if you think about it.
Step 2 :Copy the "ir.cmd" and the "IR Server Service.lnk" (shortcut) to the created folder in step 1
Step 3 : Open Notepad
Step 4 : copy and paste the following in Notepad : start "" "d:\IR SERVER - STARTUP\IR Server Service.lnk"
Step 5 : Save it as IRSS-Serv.bat
Step 6 : Copy the IR Server.bat to the startup folder ( c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ )
You can test the IR Server.bat if you like,
it should give you a UAC window and then you click "yes",
the command promp comes up, restarts your server
and closes automatically.
Now for the real test,
restart your pc.
When starting windows, the command prompt comes up,
however, you wont see a UAC window coming up.
Don't panic, if you look at your task bar below, you will see something orange blinking.
That's the UAC, just click it and the window comes up.
Voila, that's it.
For those who are not so good with a computer,
I've uploaded the 3 files needed in a rar file.
Follow Steps 1, 2 and 6 for where to copy the files from the rar. Don't rename the files from the rar !!!!!!!!!!
But still I encourage you to read how the files are made,
it could come handy in the future for other things to start with windows,
it's really not that hard to make, just follow the step by step guide.
