[FIXED] Live TV crashes every 2 minutes!!! (3 Viewers)

Hi,

I recently installed Windows XP + SP3. After that I installed Mediaportal and stumbled upon this issue.

Every time I start Live TV it will start perfectly. But after 2 minutes it crashes. Picture freezes. Only way to get out is to kill Mediaportal. Really annoying. I don't use standby.

Any solutions?

This may sound silly, but do you have enough disk space left for the timeshifting files.
I had a similar problem some time ago, which turned out to be lack of space. Once the disk was full, TV just stopped.

I now have another similar issue now on my client, but I'm putting it down to network issues or "For The Record" for the moment till I can prove otherwise.

This is not the problem. I still have about 30 gb of free space in my timeshift disk. I never had this problem in vista and 7.

since its a fresh install of sp3 , did you install the 2 needed patches ?

I also tried the firedtv viewer. But in this player liveTV runs perfect. So it is a mediaportal problem!

Make sure those patches are in use. Not all players are affected by the crashes those patches are curing, it depends what Windows components are used and how they are used.

Yep, I did install the bda/dvb hotfix.



I even uninstalled the hotfix to see what happens, but still the same issue.

I also increased the timeshift buffer with no effect. Still a crash at almost 2 minutes. So the crash position is 2 minutes everytime.

ok .. last thing you should try..

go into computer management.

device manager..

locate the 1394 driver..

click update driver..

select browse my computer manually

then select "let me pick from a list on my computer"

select the 1394 LEGACY driver..

and try again

you cant ????????????? its included with windows ....

i am lost for words now..

it isnt really windows 7 related.. its all versions related.. but depends on your motherboard manufacturer what kind of chip they included (and especially the driver for it)..

Legacy is just the best choice..

i guess youre on your own now.. if its not available there is something wrong with your OS..
