I am looking into using follw.it to synchronise the three MediaPortal 1.4.0 machines that I have in the house, using both MP-TVSeries and Moving Pictures.

So, I have set up a follw.it account and linked both Moving Pictures and MP TV Series to it on the main HTPC in the lounge. All seems to be synchronised and working well. The next step is to now link the two client MP machines to the follw.it account with the hope that anything watched on any machine will automatically update the watched flag on all 3 machines via the follw.it account.

But, logically, I am wondering how this will actually work, and I have some concerns about corrupting the existing databases, by follw.it overwriting the data with incorrect or out of date information from another machine.

For example, what happens if all three machines are logged into follw.it at the same time and watching different things, how is the priority of information managed? And what happens about deletions or additions to the database collections on the different machines?

Hi all, sorry to drag up an old thread, please feel free to split/move this as necessary if it would be better suited in another place.

I've got a problem which isn't related to the plugin or MediaPortal, but more of a general follow.it question and I'm struggling to find the best place to post it, I've always had great success from the MP forums so here I am!

I recently lost a chunk of my media library to a failed hard drive (sadly my finances don't allow a backup solution for a library this size). As the media was stored in a pool (spread across multiple disks), I don't have an easy way to tell which files are missing and where from which you can imagine with a large library would be nearly impossible to check manually. All my media is synced to follow.it (I don't have an up to date library in MP TV Series though). Is there any kind of app which can compare the info on my follw.it profile with the media on my drives to tell me what is missing?

Hey, first I apologize if this has been mentioned any where already. I just went to the Follw.it website and discovered that they will be closing up shop on September 30, 2014. It will cease, even third party apps will stop working.

Any plans on what will be used in its place....if anything?
