It seems the MP1.2A bug report forum has been locked now, so I'll have to post here.

When I try and open MP config, I get a message saying that Win7 SP1 is not supported because it lacks critical hotfixes, but I never got this message before SP1 and surely that has more hotfixes?

More importantly, it seems the fonts have got messed up. It's most obvious on the TV Guide screen, as shown in the screenshots below. The first is resized from 720p to 1024x768 and the second is untouched.

Um, I'm not sure that I see the problem with the fonts. Are you able to elaborate a little.

...and while you elaborate for mm, please try to reproduce with MP's default skin.

I'm surprised you can't see the problem. The text used to be a lot stronger and now it looks likes it's been written by a pen that's running out of ink and leaving gaps and weak areas, making it very hard to read.

I've checked with Blue3Wide and that's fine. I've attached a screenshot, which doesn't quite do it justice as it looks somewhat better in reality, but I think you should still be able to see that it looks a lot better than StreamedMP.

Anyway, looks like a StreamedMP problem so I'll get myself over to their forum.

Yeah, it is *really* not fair to compare aspects of skins like that. This is definitely a StreamedMP thing, possibly a design choice...

In regard to the 1.2.0a thing: 1.2.0a was released before SP1, therefore it doesn't know about it. As you know we released 1.1.3 as a hotfix for 1.1.2 and SP1 users. We didn't do the same thing for 1.2.0a because it is just an alpha and because 1.2.0b was so close. No bugs here...

I've used StreamedMP for a long time and it's always looked great until recently, so something's gone wrong.

So please don't tell me I'm being unfair in comparing skins, thank you.

Thanks for the information about the SP1 thing though.

I'm sorry - I did not wish to cause offense. :sorry:

What I was trying to say is that it is not fair to compare the font sizes and styles on blue3/the default skin with those in StreamedMP. They are two different skins, so style and layout can be completely different. I'm not trying to ignore your experience - if older versions of StreamedMP had comparible font sizes to blue3/default then you are quite correct to think something had changed or something was wrong - but as we've agreed, the issue is with StreamedMP.

No worries, I think I'm probably a bit touchy today

Of course you're right it's not fair to compare different skins. I only posted the screenshot of Blue to demonstrate how clear StreamedMP used to and should look. I don't know if they use the same font size or style, I just know it used to look clear and easily readable and now it's a mess. The bright white text is OK, it's the rest that's not.

Anyway, hopefully the StreamedMP guys can help me get it straight.

doveman, all I can suggest is to do the following:

    1. Uninstall StreamedMP
    2. Manually remove the fonts from the C:\Windows\Fonts folder. We mark these files as permantent and wont remove them on uninstall.
    3. You want to remove 3 fonts:
    - Fluid Body Caps Medium
    - Fluid Medium
    - Fluid Title Caps Medium
    4. Re-Install StreamedMP.

    Hopefully that fixes your issue.

Have you at any time modifed these fonts or played with/overwritten the fonts.xml?

ltfearme, thanks I'll try what you suggest.

I haven't touched the fonts or the .xml, but perhaps some other application/game has done so.
