This thread may help you as it contains some possible issues which may prevent Web Access from working.I installed 4TR, everything looks fine. But when I try to access with Web access, I get (in IE7) only the page source code. Any idea?
OK But you'll have to turn on DVB-EPG syncing in the TV Server recorder/tuner setup then, otherwise For The Record's guide will remain empty.XMLTV generally provides much more detailed information, like the episode title, the director, the actors of a movie, etc...One more question - why is XMLTV preferred over DVB? I've found DVB-S much less hassle to set up and use - I'd hate to (and won't) go back to using XMLTV...
And the richer your guide data, the better your scheduling rules work, so that's why it's the preferred source ...
OK, thanks for that - I'll still stick with DVB-S though, so much less hassle

This is your mind playing tricks The source code for the plugin is available and as you can see there it's the same global MP player playing the same RTSP stream as beforeAlso, and this may just be placebo, but it seems that LiveTV is not as good quality when using 4TheRecord. I notice it on my HD channels where it just seems that panning was a bit smoother and the image crisper with the Mp TvClient - this may just be placebo, since I cannot figure out why there should be any difference, tehcnically.
We could indeed look at adding some indicators, especially which channel is currently recording something. Also, one thing I am missing, is the indication of available channels when looking at the channellist. Since I have a DVB-C card it is not always logical which channels are available (since there is the mix-up with the MUX's). MPtvClient shows me which channels are available and which are recording. In 4TheRecord there are no indication.
The feature request to make the recording folder configurable per schedule is already on our list, just need to find some time to implement this. When recording I hate that I cannot change the way the recordings are named, nor can I stop it from creating a subfolder with the name of the recording and putting it there. Right now the name goes something like: "Grey's anatomy (american Drama Serie from 2007) - Kanal 4 - 03-11-2008.ts" which I think are way too long. And I cannot change it. This may be possible with some Post-processing commands, but i just have no Clue as to how to do it.
When Scheduling a recording in the Management, I can set the name of the File, but when scheduling through the MP GUI there is no way to change it (right now, perhaps this is in the making).
I thought so to, but maybe I should just get used to it.This is your mind playing tricks The source code for the plugin is available and as you can see there it's the same global MP player playing the same RTSP stream as before
This would be great. The way it works in MP right now (this example is with a single tuner card, DVB), is that whenever a channel is recording, this channel gets marked as "recording". Depending on the skin, it either gets a symbol or there is a text saying "Recording". TVserver then checks if there are other channels on the same MUX, which would still be available. If there are, these channels gets marked with "Available". Rest of the channels gets marked "Unavailable".We could indeed look at adding some indicators, especially which channel is currently recording something.

For The Record doesn't make any difference between single seat and multiseat, so yes.Is RTSP also used for single seat system? That might explain some differences if yes.

But why would RTSP playback be of lesser quality then direct TS playback? It's the same digital video information, no? The same number of frames, and the same pixels...
