Recently discovered this on uninstalling, it did it automatically. However i had to kill the tvservice before it would let me continue the uninstall, when i stopped it it simply said 'stopping' for about 5mins. No tuners were doing anything.
I assume this isn't compatible with RC4?
I've had that happen too, TVService refusing to end... Strangely enough this usually happens straight after a restart, when it hasn't done anything yet.

To answer your RC4 question: reports are that For The Record works just fine with it. I'll be upgrading my own server soon to confirm this myself, and starting with 1.3.1 BETA 3 I'll compile everything against the RC4 assemblies anyway.

Since updating to RC4, I don't seem to have any recordings appearing in the Recordings screen. I use FTR, Aeon Wide, and RC4. My channels all appear fine, I can tune and watch TV fine. My EPG is fine. I can schedule a tv show to be recorded, and it appears in the list of shows to be recorded.

I get pop-ups telling me when a show has started recording and finished; I can go into the FTR console and see the schedules and see the recorded shows that have been recorded. I can browse via file manager and see and watch the shows that are there. THey are .TS files and I haven't made any special config changes.

The links within the TVServer config for FTR are fine; I can use the ping button fine. The TV Service is running fine.

The only thing missing is that they simply don't appear in the list of recoded shows within MP (TV... Recorded TV). I don't know where to check for this; they showed up fine in RC3.

Any tips on what I can check (is it something wrong with Aeon Wide?) would be greatly appreciated!

Just to make sure, have you reinstalled FTR after upgrading or did you by mistake return to using MyTV instead of FTR's MyTV replacement?

I have another question. I am not sure how FTR is handling the fact that a TV channel can be tuned on multiple TV cards. In my case I have one DVB-T card and one hybrid (DVT-T + analog) card. Some channels exists on all three tuners, so how does FTR choose which one to use? Does it use the same rules as the original MP, whatever that means?

I am asking, because from what I recall, pre-FTR I always got the DVB-T version of a channel when just watching TV. Maybe because I had prioritised the cards like that in the TV Server config (?). Now, when using FTR I sometimes get the analog version although there should definitely be a DVB-T version available (not recording anything, and even so I have two DVB-T tuners on different cards).

Yes, it uses the card priority. 1.3 uses the reverse priority for recordings, and the normal priority for live TV. 1.3.1 will make this switchable (so you can use the same priority for both). So in your situation I think the switch makes sense, since you really want to always follow the same priority since your cards are different...

Ok. I will review my priorities again, and patiently await 1.3.1 :)
:) It should be available soon, BETA 3 was made available on our beta forum yesterday and we're close to an RC release.

1.3.1 is mostly a maintenance release, but will also include some new features: an Import/Synchronize wizard which will import recordings made by For The Record itself, will import MediaPortal recordings and in fact will import any .avi/.mpg/... file it finds in your recording folder(s) allowing you to enter your own title and episode name for each of those.

On top of that it will even detect moved recordings, so you can go into your recording share folder, re-organize the files as you wish in different folders and such, and then simply do a rescan with the "Import/Synchronization Wizard" and all you did will be applied automagically to the For The Record database.

There's also an Export wizard to easily export your recordings, including metadata, to an external device or another network location.

And then there's also a new guide import tool which support plugins. First plugin for that tool will be a ClickFinder importer. A SchedulesDirect importer is planned as well, but that will be released after 1.3.1.
