well...as far as the 6600 (non-GT) goes..i can say its a much better performer in general...

i have 2 pc's and an ATI 9800Pro 128MB in one and a 6600 256MB(non-GT) in the other...i decided to swap them for a short time and the quality, smoothness etc was amazingly better than the ATI

also the 6600GT has some advanced deinterlacing called ... Spacial Temporal De-Interlacing..which makes video quality better, smoother etc ........even more so than the 6600.... this is not availible to any GF6 card below the 6600GT *grrr why nvidia ??.. why??*

might have to put the 6600 back in the HTPC and try out tv with this Zulu DxVA codec :)

What about this codec issue mentioned above? Will timeshifting and recording work under MediaPortal with this card?

The codec issues are not really important, the card will work with all sorts of codecs as it just outputs MPEG2. Since my last comment I have used the nVidia decoder and this works quite well.
The dvico codec also works well if it likes your video card.

Noticed that this doesn't seem to be supported, so I had a bit of a play with the capture cards file adn graphedit.
Windows thinks the card is 2 HDTV cards, one USB and the other PCI.
By using the settings that were already there and modifying the recognition strings slightly I was able to get them up and running.
They both seem to be running. I have viewed some TV and autotuned with both. It seems to work OK.

WARNING: This has only been tested for a few minutes.

Got the card, installed the card but it won't tune (either capture card)...

Do I need to Graphedit it?

I'm having this same problem. I even tried downloading the latest update and while the card is detected and the signal strength is excellent, I can't tune any channels in.

    Basically, I:

    installed WinXP
installed latest drivers for my MB and cards
    installed SP2
installed the HDTV software and drivers from Dvico
    installed .Net 2
    installed MP
overlayed the latest udpate from MP
    ran configurator
watched as no channels were tuned
    searched WWW for answers

    Any ideas?

Are you trying to tune in the configuration wizard or the settings program? I can never get tuning working in the wizard, so I just add my card and then select it, hit edit and then click the Autotune button at the bottom.

I've tried to tune in with both. What's crazy is that the configurator shows that there is an excellent signal on the PCI card and no signal on the USB card.

Does the software that comes with the card interfere with MP?

I'm going to completely blow away the install and start from scratch without anything that isn't required.

I have never had an issue with the fusion software interferring with MediaPortal.

Both tuners work fine in the supplied software, I presume? You need to use PiP to test the USB tuner, first right clicking -> PiP -> PiP tuner and click USB tuner, then PiP-> PiP on. Then try right clicking on the PiP window and going to PiP program and changing channels, etc.
