getting EPG in the US (1 Viewer)

How am I supposed to get tv guide information in the US? I've looked everywhere, am I missing something? I have charter cable if that helps.

like to know how to get U.S. EPG. I can't figure out where to get the .xml files the grabbers use. Also isn't there a way to get the info off of the channels through OTA? I know Total Media can do this, but I want to use Media Portal.

I would not waste time and use the embedded EPG with the TV channel signal. From what I have heard only covers a day or 2 and contains minimal information e.g. Movie, instead of a full movie title and description. After wrestling the US EPG issue for 2 years the mc2xml method with the XMLTV plugin is the best. I actually pay for Schedules Direct too, but I believe you can use other free providors with mc2xml.
