Re: PVR-150 45 button remote

All logging takes place to Mediaportal.log. But you have to understand, that I can't support that version anymore, cause that version was nothing more than a first try...

Of course I understand. I will switch to the new version when a fix has been found.

The people that have this setup, pvr-150 and 45 button remote and has the latest script working, what version of drivers are you using and os?

I'm using XP Pro SP2 French, I tried the following drivers without success:
- hcw2_2_22292pp2.exe
- hcw2_2_22301_pp2.zip
- official drivers from Hauppauge Site (2.0.18.22280 with update pvr150_22_22292.exe, ir32_245_22350.exe, PVRII_dec_4.0.22236.exe, wintv2k_46_22278.exe, hcwsmd04.exe).

I have a FX5200 with NVidia drivers 71.84.
I have exactly the same setup (well, the dutch version of XP, not the french) and also a non working plugin. When I switch on the extensive logging I only see the plugin starting, stopping and taking or releasing the remote focus when switching into and out of media portal.

This is on a brand new pc which I have installed only last week and immediately updated all drivers to the most recent versions. So I would say it cannot be because of some mess in the registrery.

i have a dutch xp version and the plug won't work too.

it must be something with the language of the os and the .net framework.

i have bought total input, a wifi remote program for my pocket pc and i have the same problems with it.
i cant get it to work on none of my computers, even newly assemled ones.

problem is i do not have an english windows version to check it with, becouse i think the language is the problem.

so i think what is happening with the plugin has the same reason.

excuse my bad english

Hi,

I use also nvdia Fx5200 with 71.84 driver.

in HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\Hauppauge
WinTV Infrared Remote , in UninstallString, i have the value: C:\PROGRA~1\WINTV\UNIR32.EXE C:\PROGRA~1\WINTV\IR32.LOG
which seems to be correct.

I'm running an english version of windows XP (but with location set to denmark). I have upgraded to SP2 without improvements...

PVR-150 with 45 button remote. Drivers version 2.2
Geforce 5200 with drivers Version: 71.84

Hope that helps ;-)

It looks like everybody with a pvr-150 card has problems with the new plugin, including me.

As I understand mPod, you dont have a pvr-150 card so you cant test it?

Do you have any way to borrow or get hold on a pvr-150 card and test?

If there is anybody with a pvr-150 card that have the latest version of the plugin working, please post here.

Uhm... No. As long as you don't send me yours...

Did anybody try older versions of the Hauppauge PVR-driver?

hi,

I have the same problem with my PVR-150 (+45 button remote) on a geman windows xp sp2. I'm using the latest driver for the remote control.

remote works well outside, but in mp the is no reaction.

I already made some deeper tests by extractiong the initialization routine
of the plugin to a small test program.
after the initialization my application starts receiving wm_timer messages (without pressing any button on the remote?!) and a call to
IR_GetKeyCode returns NO_KEY.
unfortunately the things don't change if I press a button on my remote and IR_GetKeyCode still returns NO_KEY.

is it possible that the driver will announce a problem when always fireing a
WM_TIMER event without pressing a button, or is that behaviour normal
and the problem is just that IR_GetKeyCode returns NO_KEY?

does someone have a description for the driver?
