I tried that version, but it has no tv3 blaster plugin :( (as per the first post: ATTENTION: my version has NOT the TvServer blast part in it - if you need tv server blast you must use the official release).

edit: and official version only supports 1.1, and in 1.2 is listed under "incompatible plugins".

New version was posted. Did you manage to work things out?

    Hi,

Yes I've got everything set up and working perfectly now, thanks. I actually ended up writing my own DirecTV SHEF plugin, so didn't need IRSS. Would be happy to upload it somewhere if someone else wants it. Currently only supports one receiver though.

The hardest part was adding all the channels because there doesn't seem to be a way to batch add channels.

Hello everyone, I made an update of MP 1.1.3 to 1.2 and everything went very well. I already had an HD-PVR and I thought that this was not a viable long term because my HD-PVR was more or less stable with MP 1.1.3. So I opted for this colossus that I installed in my PC along with the update 1.2 of MP. I must say wow! In comparing my HD-PVR, the colossus is much faster to start and stop, even changing the channel takes 2 seconds compared to 12 with my HD-PVR and MP 1.1.3.

I just have some problems with the colossus.

1 - I have the SPDIF issue (like WileE had), changes itself to AAC (RCA) ( but works in showbiz )
3 - I am limited to 8 Mbps in showbiz, as soon as I change it, it resets to 8 Mbps automatically.

    Colossus is GREAT !

    Thanks for your help.

    Hey kilik360,
Thanks for the feedback. SJeffrey, mm and I are going to have to dig in to work on the SPDIF issue. Hopefully it will be a setting we can adjust....

As far as the 9Mbps, we will have to do some research on that as well.

    Thanks,
    Wile E.

Absolutely, just start a new thread in the Plugins section and post your file(s). Im sure other DirecTV users would be happy to try it out.

Are you using RCA connections or SPDIF connections?

    Thanks,
    Wile E.

    Fantastic!

Yes, I hear you loud and clear there. I'm not sure if it would work but did you try making playlists? Perhaps WileE can tell you what he does because there must be a better way. In any case I'm very seriously considering doing something about that for 1.3.0. I've just got so much else planned that I'm not sure if I'll have the time...

I've posted my plugin here. I'm currently using Component + RCA for audio which is working perfectly. Soon I hope to move to using HDMI, which thankfully DirectTV doesn't require HDCP (so far!).

Didn't try making a playlist (not 100% familiar with everything MediaPortal yet), but it wasn't too bad. Its a one time process and I made sure to export my channels for the future. It also kinda forces you to add only the channels you actually watch, leaving the hundreds of others you don't, making for a much more useful guide ;)

Thanks ! I saw new drivers on the hauppauge website. It seems that they fixed my 8 mbps problems.

    - Removed limitations on video bit rate. Range is now 1 - 20mbps for all resolutions.

    Support for Colossus

Yesterday, when i woke up my system, i was not able to see the source feed of the colossus. I saw in showbiz that the video input changes itself from component to HDMI. Turned it back to component and everything is fine now. Weird..

The hardest part was adding all the channels because there doesn't seem to be a way to batch add channels.

What I do is use SchedulesDirect plugin for TVServer and run it once to get all my channels, then I switch over to 4TR and use their schedulesdirect guide importer. No manual adding to be done :)

I hadn't noticed the over 8mbps issue since I don't want my recordings to be too big, even though I think they already are at 8... :)

I too use the SchedulesDirect plugin, but I have yet to try 4TR. Maybe I will give it a go once everything here settles down...

On another note, have you had a chance to try your SPDIF connection? I plan on setting aside some time this weekend to testing. One thing I did note was that the HD-PVR used the settings set in the Arcsoft software. I wonder if there are registry entries it looks at when creating the graph? The Colossus Software doesnt seem to save my settings when I exit, so I wonder if that could be a problem? I wonder if it would work if we changed the audio settings in the Channel config from Auto to SPDIF? Just some thoughts....

    Wile E.

Edit: Thanks to kilik360 I looked at the new driver version revisions, I think I might start with it and go from there. It looks like it is saving Bitrate settings in the regsitry, so maybe the Arcsoft software will now save the selected video & audio connections as well?
