Hi all! I've been watching the progress of MediaPortal for a bit since I got a HD-PVR Colossus card a little while back, and finally a distro of 1.2 is out that I can easily install! (Didn't really want to install all my dev tools and build from the SVN).
Now I'm pretty new to MediaPortal, I wiped my system clean (Windows 7 Ultimate x64), installed the drivers for the card off the site and installed a fresh copy of MediaPortal (wanted to wipe just to be sure nothing messed w/ the beta).
Everything installed fine but I cant seem to get TV, now as I said I'm a n00b to MediaPortal so perhaps I'm doing something wrong but what I find suspicious reading over everyones threads is that my card lists under TV Servers as the following:
- My PC Name
- DVB-IP MediaPortal IPTV Source Filter
- Analog Hauppauge Colossus Crossbar 0
- Radio WebStream Card
Now is all that correct? and if so what am I missing? This is just the 1.2 BETA installable on the main page, fresh OS, WINTV works fine so the card is installed, no drivers missing, etc...
Thoughts? I'm guessing its something fairly obvious, I did not overwrite any files with the patches for the SVN build since I assume it comes with it now that its built.
Thanks everyone for the help!
SKnight
EDIT:
Okay figured out the problem the card was on the lower end of the priority... so next question the channels show as the inputs, how do you go about always forcing the correct input and then adding my channels though the IR Blaster? I'm going to keep fiddling (gotta love trial and error )
THX!
Heyy, I was considering to purchase this card (Colossus),
However, I wanted to ask does it work having the tv server and the client seperate, over an ethernet network.
If it does, is it stable to do so?
Thanks,
Hi again everyone
Speaking of EPG: I happened to be trawling through the forums today when I found -->this<--. I was wondering if Mc2xml is what you all use to get SchedulesDirect into XML format for the XMLTV plugin, or whether you could actually get free EPG using Mc2xml to export EPG from WMC data.
Disclaimer: I haven't looked particularly deeply into this, and as you all know I live half way around the world from the US. So far that Microsoft doesn't think it is worthwhile to provide us with EPG data for WMC (but that is another story! ). A free option seems too good to be true to me, but since it is free I reckon it is worth mentioning and/or trying...
Hey, I am also new to MediaPortal. I used to run Myth but with "flakey at best" support for HDPVR and no support for Colosuss, I have found my way back to a Windows machine (yuck). So at least MP is opensource and that is great. I love the interface and very smooth. I have had a Colossus for a month sitting in my machine and not used, so I ventured into MP 1.2beta, no biggie if I don't get it going right away, have been without for so long now. I have this all up and going with the exception of the IR doesn't work, but blaster does work perfectly and NO sound from Colossus? I have the Component side video but not the RCA sound. I have played around with the channels to pick Aux#1 through Line#3 to see if that was it, and no avail. The IR not working is a pain, I have the IR and Blaster software installed from Hauppauge and the blaster changes channels with no issues, just cant use the remote to navigate and continual crashing of IR.exe.
Any ideas of where i should start? I did not install IRServer as the blaster works fine, and humbly the IRServer wasnt very straightforward for the Hauppauge stuff.
Welcome to MediaPortal!
Your issues...
1. No audio through RCA: Have you loaded the latest driver from Hauppauge? You have probably have done this, but have you set everything up through the Arcsoft Showbiz software? I try to leave the audio settings to Automatic whenever possilble.
2. Blasters: I do not use the Hauppauge blasters, I use the blasters through my MCE transceiver. They integrate well with IRSS. I think most users found it to be a real pain to set up the Hauppauge blasters. Can someone else chime in if they have the Hauppauge blasters working correctly?
Good luck!
Wile E.
True, but the HD-PVR would 'remember' settings set in the Arcsoft software. For example, if I physically changed the audio from RCA to SPDIF, went into the Arcsoft software and changed it from RCA to SPDIF, restart the TV Server it would 'pick up' the change even though the setting was Auto for all the Channels. For some reason the Colossus, although the audio setting in the Channel config is set to Auto, does not automatically pick up the change. Again, this is what I & SJeffrey are going to research this weekend...
