    Hi folks

Just to confirm: that psisdecd.dll thing is indeed a BDA related DLL. I'm glad you both got things working! :)

My turn to have a question...

The aspect function in MP doesn't work the same way for my PVR150 than on the Colossus...
It is kinda hard to explain...

I get channels from the provider that are in SD (4x3) but that contains 16x9 image for the actual show (with horizontal black bars), but also fullscreen 4x3 commercials.
On the PVR I could use the "Zoom" mode to get the black bars off screen, so the 16x9 show full take all the the screen, but on the Colossus, the "Zoom" mode does not change from the "Original" mode, and the Zoom 14 something gets me kind of ½ way there... It zooms in the right way, just not enough, like half way there.

I hope you guys understand what I'm trying to write here... on the fly translation after a long day at work is not my best skill :p

    DW

PS: It did act the exact same way on Win7 ;)

    ****** EDIT *****
Forgot to mention that I was using the same STB on both cards.

    Hi DW

I think the issue must be a difference in the aspect ratio or resolution of the source material. Have you got the details handy? The info would be in the MediaPortal.log file...

    MM,
The streamed is coming in from the STB at 1280x720 (720p) and the display resolution is 1920x1080 (1080P).
I got those from the shift-1 display while in TV mode.

I wish there was an easy way just to tell the Zoom 14:9 to Zoom more...

I don't seem to have the studdering problem I had with my last install for some reason, but I'm dropping as much packed as I'm drawing... Go figure!
It also studders badly on channel change but goes back to normal after a couple seconds

I can't check the resolution of the PVR though but I'm it's lower since it was s-video.

    hey deskwizard,

Now I'm not sure how to setup the blasters. I would like to use the hauppauge blasters, but it seems you cant use them on multiple cards:( So I installed drivers for the MCE transciever, but now I have a test mode watermark on my desktop. Can I get rid of that and is there any way to install the transcriever drivers from win7 driver repository so I don't have to disable driver signing? I installed the ir server suite and the patch tv3 plugin, but when I click on it in the tvserver config, it doesn't do anything. How are you blasting to your stb's? Are there other options then hauppauge and MCE tranciever? I have dish 211 stb's. I'm planning to switch to directv after I get this all working.

    jkuch,
I have only use the MCE blaster.

0 Go to the Device Manager and make sure that both receiver and transmitter drivers are installed.
1 Make sure receiver and transmitter is set in IRSS config,
2 in TV server config, activate IRSS plugin.
3 Go to the plugin config page
4 In the bottom right tab, there's an "STB Setup" button.
5 In that windows, select the card you want to blast,
6 Select one of the two dish Quick Setup (one of them will probably work, since the STB often share remotes)
7 In the windows that will pop up, select either blaster port 1 or 2, select the all checkbox and click ok.
8 Test the blasting, making sure it's aiming at the right place and that the codes work.

Repeat steps 5-8 for the other card/stb, select the other port on step 7.

As for the watermark, I don't remember the actual method I used for removal,
but this website might have some information about that.
    Driver Signature Enforcement Overrider 1.3b

    Hope this helps.

Okay. What are the values of the frame rate and frame size settings on the "settings" tab for the Colossus in TV Server configuration?

    I.F.C.?

The PVR-150 encodes to MPEG 2 whereas the Colossus encodes to h.264 - huge difference. h.264 decoding without codecs and a GPU that support hardware accelerated video decoding or a powerful enough CPU will be a problem.

Those 3 boxes are empty and disabled so I couldn't change it even if I wanted to...

    Thanks! :)

Yes. I am aware of this. The 5450 video card is able to decode h.264 in hardware. Also, I meant to compare the colossus on win7 and on win2008R2, not comparing between pvr and colossus. Sorry I didn't make this clear enough... Mixing subject in the same post wasn't my greatest idea :p

    Thanks!

+1 on MM's recommendation for IFC. I waited long to install this thing thinking I would lose HW acceleration. I was wrong.
IT keeps HW acceleration and it is amazing. I did a few happy dances when I installed it because it was so great. I was so annoyed getting 16:9 in SD on HD blah blah blah. Best I could do before was 14:9 zoom but still had some borders. Now it works 99% perfectly with IFC.
