    Hi everyone

Sorry for the delayed response - my computer has been out of action...

I don't understand why those fields would be empty. Are they actually disabled, or do they just not contain any options?

sjeffrey: you should be able to control the quality (bitrate) of recordings even if you can't set the video frame size. Those would be the same settings that would be available through Arcsoft. Check the "quality control" tab. The specifics of the setting values are explained in the wiki -->here<--.

    MM,
I'll go check, give me a couple minutes.

    **EDIT**

The fields on the Settings tab are empty and disabled.
But it might just be my "unsupported setup" but i'm pretty certain this was the same on win7

I have settings and framerate set on 5. wintv-7164 Analog TV Tuner but it IS greyed out (blank) on 6. wintv-7164 Analog TV Tuner.
I have been away from this thread so excuse me if I am way off but did you set hydrid?

Since I have the settings is there something I can do to help test/troubleshoot?

    Hmmm...

Well on my own analog tuners it does seem that those settings are disabled until after the graph has been built, so are they still disabled after you start viewing TV with the tuner/Colossus/HD-PVR?

thirdoff: thanks for the offer. At the moment I need to look at the code in a little more depth to see if I can figure out what is going on. I'll definitely let you know if there is any way you can help. :D

    mm,

With mediaportal running, watching TV on the colossus, I started TV server configuration and the settings are still empty and disabled.

I'm not sure that was what you we're asking but...

I can't comment really about the relationship to the graph being built, but whenever I go look at that tab (which is not often), it is always disabled - I can't click anything on that tab. The other tabs are just fine. Running Win7 x64, MP1.2.1 but it also did the same on 1.2.0 and the alphas we tested out before it was "official". Not sure if it matters, but I have two of these Colossus cards connected via analog (I'm going to be attempting a move to HDMI very soon) and two AverMedia Combo PCI-e cards which do NTSC/ATSC but I'm only using the ATSC connection.

Let us know if you need any logs or anything to troubleshoot, although I don't find it to be an "issue" since it isn't preventing me from doing anything.... or is it?

    Hi,

I am trying to get my Colossus set up and I am having a few issues so wouldn't find if someone could lend a hand please. My set up is the HDMI output of a Virgin Media (UK) set top box into a HDFury3 to remove HDCP. The component output of this is then into the Colossus. I am able to receive video and sound fine however I am having an issue with the IR blasting.

I have installed the Hauppauge IR software along with IRSS. Now here is where I fall down, I can't find the IR codes/setup (within the Hauppauge application) for the box anywhere and so I presume I am one of the few doing this with a Cisco Virgin Media box. Is there a way I can figure it out how it should be setup? I notice that you can 'learn' commands with the Hauppauge app although it wouldn't recognise input from my Virgin remote at all it seems. I don't know if I need IRSS but I have configured it to receive Hauppauge input although there is no transmit check box.

Another question to ask is, once I have the IR blaster configured, how do I configure MediaPortal to change the channel for me? At the moment I have the standard channels (CVBS, S-Video, YRYBY, HDMI) whereas I would prefer individual channels (BBC1, 2, ITV etc..)

I see you guys were discussing the tabs in the TV-Server Setup for the card, my Settings tab controls are enabled, some of the VideoProcAmp controls are, and my encoder doesn't support quality checking. Out of interest, what encoder are people using for the Colossus?

I am using MP 1.2.1 and I don't think I have installed the WMC plugin as I don't use WMC at all (although I did install WinTV).

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi and welcome PsyVision :)

I'm sorry I'm not able to help with this part.

Set Top Box Blasting - MediaPortal Wiki
You'll have to create the channels manually as described in the tutorial. The TVE3 Blaster plugin uses the channel number field in the channel tuning details as the number to blast to the STB.

I see you guys were discussing the tabs in the TV-Server Setup for the card, my Settings tab controls are enabled, some of the VideoProcAmp controls are, and my encoder doesn't support quality checking. Out of interest, what encoder are people using for the Colossus?
The Colossus has a hardware encoder which should be supported by the quality control tab. Either way you don't get to choose the encoder that gets used.

I am using MP 1.2.1 and I don't think I have installed the WMC plugin as I don't use WMC at all (although I did install WinTV).
You don't need to worry about the WMC plugin with MP 1.2.1. The fix was integrated. If you were having problems with that then you would definitely know about it. ;)
