    Excellent :D
    I can't see my debug entry for the regex in the logs, but it must be working since both Colossuses (Colossi ??? :p) are working. It is quite unusual for a "tuner" manufacturer to number the devices like that, but I like the idea because it would make things much clearer when you go to look at tuner lists in TV Server configuration.

    BTW, I'm happy that I put the quality control in. It looks like the Colossus supports it:

    [COLLAPSE]2011-04-14 18:57:47.584960 [TVService(6)]: analog: IVideoEncoder supported by: Hauppauge Colossus TS Encoder 0; Checking capabilities

    2011-04-14 18:57:47.584960 [TVService(6)]: analog: Encoder supports ENCAPIPARAM_BitRateMode

    2011-04-14 18:57:47.584960 [TVService(6)]: analog: Encoder supports ENCAPIPARAM_BitRate

    2011-04-14 18:57:47.588867 [TVService(6)]: analog: Encoder supports ENCAPIPARAM_PeakBitRate[/COLLAPSE]

    If you are happy for me to commit now then I will do so as soon as I get home from work (6 hours or so)...

    For me its working perfect. If you are getting pressure to commit please go ahead and do so. If there are issues, we can address them and do a special build and post it here (after 1.2 beta is released of course.)

    I too am glad you added the quality support. I will play with that some this weekend as well to see how well it works.

    Thanks!

    Are you testing the HDPVR ?

    This is the outstanding issue that is holding up the beta. :)

    Best wishes,

    I think you may as well commit the code now. It would be great to get the code in before the beta cut off.

    Edit: Ignore my post, I didn't see there was another page to the thread...

    What method should be used to add channels and EPG data to the Colossus? I would love to get MP working and save $80 but at this point it's not worth any more frustration, searching the forums and wiki hasn't been of any help, what information that isn't old doesn't appear to relate to the Colossus.

    I'm all for open source projects but the lack of updated documentation and user friendliness of MP as a whole has made this a real pain, anyone new to MP trying to setup a Colossus is going to find this very apparent.

    If you read this thread you will see that MP does support the Colossus (yet) so the EPG is no the biggest issue.

    When support is added you can add EPG data in a few ways. I am assuming as it is basically a capture device that you will not be able to capture EPG data included in the transmissions? Is not then that leaves you with xmltv or a web EPG grabber.

    last of all the wiki is realtively new (MEDIAPORTAL - Wiki is Live!) and is a massive improvement over the old documenation ;) the documentation is open source too so feel free to fill in parts you think are lacking...

    @RunningBlind,
    You make a good point. Setting up for the US can be confusing for beginners, I will work on an inital setup guide and post links to valid plugins to get people started. For some of us that have been using it for a while know how to navigate to find what we are looking for. Thanks for pointing that out...

    @jameson,
    Very true, support is not added just yet, but will hopefully make it into the 1.2 beta (If not I will have to post a special build here.) And you are correct, the EPG cannot be caught through the transmissions, but rather through the SchedulesDirect plugin (which is what most of us in the US use.)

    The Wiki is improving every day and when I get time I will create a Startup guide for users in the US, especially designed for those of us that use Analog, QAM, HD Homerun, HDPVR and Colossus tuners. A step by step guide has been a real need since I started using MediaPortal.

    I'm going to assume you meant to say that MP doesn't support the Colossus, which is true for the releases, but I've compiled revision 27798 from the SVN and patched it for Colossus support. I'm just looking for more clarification on how to add channels to the Colossus, the wiki isn't clear how to do this with a card like the Colossus. I understand EPG will need come from a third party as the Colossus is a capture device, but again, there is no good documentation on how to do this.

    Please see my post above, we posted at the same time :)

    You could use the SchedulesDirect plugin, but since you are using the latest version be sure to pull the latest from here -> Downloads - mp-schedulesdirect - SchedulesDirect Plugin for MediaPortal - Google Project Hosting.

    Here is a quick way to try out schedules direct.

    • Create a Schedules Direct Account (Schedules Direct) They should offer a 30 day trial. After that its $20 per year.
    • Set up your guide channels on the schedules direct web site.
    • Install the Tv Server Plugin (you downloaded earlier)
    • Configure the plugin under the Tv Server Configuration

    You can find more info on the Schedules Direct forum here -> https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...exico-epg-plugin-updated-august-2010-a-26951/

    Thanks to both of you for the replies, I'll give SchedulesDirect a try when I get a chance. Documenting by device type would really help new users like myself, with all of the information on the wiki it's overwhelming trying to figure out what to do with which device. Hopefully I can get it squared away, I'd really like to have MP in working order.
