The smiley tells me that you know what the WAF is, but for others, it is "Wife Acceptance Factor", a metric used to determine how much tech stuff, and the complexity of that stuff that is visible, will annoy a spouse. It can be offset slightly by the usefulness of the tech. It is kind of a complicated equation.
Yup, and I'm pretty sure my system has a WAF of 0. It's not a mess, but it is definitely the focal point of my living room with plenty of apparent complexity. It's also visible from the el (what Chicagoans call their light rail system) a few blocks down the road. Time to retain a bouncer for my Super Bowl party.
Another thing you should have on hand when you take on this endeavor is the latest SDK from Hauppauge for these devices. That will make quick work of determining what, if anything, is different in the interface relative to the original HD-PVR.I have not downloaded or tried to build the source. I will take a stab at the "card enumeration" buts when I get a chance, probably later in the month at the rate I am going. Thanks!
