HDTV stutter (3 Viewers)

I was able to get perfect hdtv playback on a core2duo 1.86ghz with a lowly ati x1300 so the requirements really aren't that high.

This GPU has not H.264 DXVA so you're going with CPU.

I think it has. I have mobility radeon X1300 in my laptop.

You're right it was the first ATI chipset that introduced AVIVO and H.264 DXVA.

Another note,

When I use EVR I have dropped frames everywhere. In SD tv HD tv and MKV. When I use VMR9 I don't have any dropped frames. Only issue I have with VMR9, is that HD tv is playing at 25 fps.

So is this really graphic card related?

In my opinion yes. VMR9 is lighter than EVR, this could be the explanation of this behaviour.

I noticed you have a 4670. Did you have any problems with this card like the flickering guide and pixelation?

have a very similar problems, but just on a few HDTV channels (namely: ORF, where I need a CI module): Watching TV "live" gives slight stutter constant looking like having a deinterlace problem. Recordings are fine, timeshifting is fine, and even when I shift back by 15sec and then forward to the end, then I can see live TV smoothly, without stutter.
Does not really make sense to me - what is the difference (technically) between watching TV "live" and watching TV by going back and then forth again?
Have TechnoTrend 3200 with CI module and Win7. ATI graphics on mainboard.

Done so far, thanks for reminder!
In the meanwhile, dug a bit deeper. Have also NO stuttering in TV server preview. So I think that it can´t be a HW or codec problem.

Are you still using ffdshow as H.264 codec? Could you please post logs again and a screenshot of EVR stats (press SHIFT+1 to toggle stats during play).

Always use PDVD9 for Live TV and coreavc for MKV.

But my Mediaportal config is now crashing, so I will do a fresh install of MP and see if it makes a difference.
