    Hi,
    The next release of mediaportal will have easier configuration for (analog) tv and radio.
    The idea is to put a list of all tv channels and radio channels for a particular city on the website. From the setup you then simple select your country and city (and provider) and MP will add all your tv channels and radio channels.
    To make this a success we need your help.

    • What do we need?
      - the list of tv channels and radio channels for your city

      Where can i find this?
      - mostly on the website of your cable provider

      I got it, now what?
      - place it in the xml format as described below and email to e.beckers@gmail.com

    Note: frequencies are optional and only needed for channels like 24- and 62+

    dont forget to mention your country , city and provide name!!!

    Example:
    Code:
    <mediaportal>
    	<tv>
    		<channel name="Nederland 1"					number="9"  frequency="203,25"/>
    		<channel name="Nederland 2"					number="11" frequency="217,25"/>
    		<channel name="Nederland 3"					number="7"  frequency="189,25"/>
    		<channel name="RTL 4"						number="37" frequency="596,25"/>

    Hi frodo,

    Don't we need both Country, City and for example Provider. In Denmark there are multiple cable providers using different frequencies for the same channel.

    Hi frodo,

    nice idea. I also think eloo is right. In some german cities are also more than one provider with different channel settings.

    I have an XML file of all UK transmitters broken down by area. It's just the one that ShowShifter used, but I converted to XML. Do you want to have a look at it ?

    EDIT: This is a replacement for dvbt.xml - so it might not be of any use for analogue channels.

    I made one for "Norway - Oslo - UPC - Basic"

    I think you need to have it broken down to basic, entertain, family, all, plus, and so on.

    I sent you two different versions one with, and one without S and K before channelnumber. What is this? :oops:

    I'll send you Netherlands-Wageningen-UPC later on.
    Wouldn't it be nice to have country specific Zip/rar's with the thumbs of all the channels which are available for that country (probably won't give a 100% match for everyone due to local channels, unrelayed channels etc., but would be a nice start for a first install I'd think)

    Yes It could be divided by packages as well because lots of people here in Sweden who live apartments get for free the basic package of comhem (A provider here) with only a few channels.

    Best Regards
