For as long as I can remember, the skip step buttons don't actually do anything at all. There's no sound from mediaportal to indicate that it recognises that I have pressed the button.

I was wondering if it was a problem with my remote configuration (MCE remote).

If I remember correctly that feature is default for MCE remove (left/right can be used for the different skip steps). Also it's much faster to seek in the media file with those skip steps than with normal FFW/RW.

    Hi,

Correction to my previous post. When I hit the skip step buttons on the MCE remote, I get the sound through the speakers which tells me that mediaportal has registered the button being pressed. However, there is absolutely no response.

I'll have a little more time at the weekend for testing. I'll check the keyboard shortcuts and see if I can get it working on the keyboard before I worry about the remote.

    Thanks,

    Mark

    @ tourettes,

oh O.K. no problem. You find the sample file on the ftp server
in the folder "MPEG-2 file doesn't play ..." and afterwards the
post belonging to the upload ...

post #385 and #387 describe my issue ...

If you need any information about my issue please ask for them.

I tested the "8 Mile doesn't play with tsreader.ts" file and it did play correctly with the current TsReader.ax version I have on two different machines.

The TsReader is a little bit modified compared to the SVN version. i.e. it's allowing out of specs PMT PID to be used in the .ts file. In an ideal world the spec violators should fix their software, but I most likely it's not going to happen... also BBC seems to sometimes send PMT in transport stream in PID 0x10 (wich is actually reserved for NIT).

I'll do some more testing before committing such a standard breaking change to SVN. (as it's most likely not going to happen that BBC will change something in their HW / SW...)

    ProjectX output of that file:

    --> PID 0x10 (PMT) (564 #4) -> ignored
    ok> PID 0x11 has PES-ID 0xE0 (MPEG Video) (2256 #13)
    ok> PID 0x14 has PES-ID 0xBD (private stream 1) (277488 #1477)
    ok> PID 0x15 has PES-ID 0xBD (private stream 1) (277676 #1478)

Right, I've just tested with one of my client machines, running windows vista.

If I use the left and right arrow keys to skip forward or backward, it works perfectly.

However, if I use the keys on the MCE remote, it doesn't.

I definitely have MCE remote selected correctly in cofiguration, and it works for everything else. I guess there is a problem with key binding in the MCE remote.

Skipping also doesn't work in My Videos, so it looks like a remote problem.

    Best wishes,

    @ tourettes,

that would be great :D thanks for looking at it.

I will download the newest TV server version and test it.
I believe the last version i was testing was from nearly
a week ago ... You mentioned the SVN is a littlebit older,
does this mean i have to install the newest tv server
    complete download ?

Therefor a question belonging to the hole tv server
addon. With the normal Mediaportal snapshot versions
there is also tv server updated ?

For future muxxing actions, on which PID should the PMT
    be ?

    Code:
Just a quick question about the new filter.

When changing channels is it normal that I sometimes get a pitch noise and the image kinda stutters and blocks are visible.

I just updated to one of the latest SVN's and it is a lot better than a month or so ago, but it still happens, sometimes more visible then other channel changes.

Now for my question, is this normal? Can this be fixed or is this not possible to completely eliminate?

BTW, I am using PowerDVD 7.3 Ultra codec for SD TV

    tourettes: any thoughts on this?

    @ tourettes,

which version of tsreader.ax did you use ?

I installed the newest versions today on my XP Notebook and
there is the tsreader.ax from 13.11.2007. Now it seems that
the graph recognizes the videostream but no videodecoder
can be connected ( dscaler, mpv ). Therefor the graph from
    MP shows no picture ...

I tryed it manually within graphedit and there i also can't
connect the videodecoder with the video output PIN of
tsreader. And i also can't start the properties of tsreader.
I only get i message that the property page can't be displayed.

    Hi,

For the problem with skip steps not working on the remote, and a cause and solution at least for the Microsoft MCE remotes, see

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/skip_steps_and_remote_control_not_working-t31331.html

Clearly this isn't just a TV engine 3 problem. I am happy to provide a working "Microsoft MCE.xml", but I wouldn't know where to submit it, and it would need checking to ensure that it didn't break something else. I'd really rather one of the developers confirm that it is a bug and actually needs fixing.

Edit - I was expecting the skip/replay buttons to move forward/back time intervals in recorded TV. I'm sure they used to do that at one point. The right/left arrow keys do this now.

    Cheers,

    Mark

    Hi all,
I just upgraded to a new System (see specs) and decided to use Vista because of EVR and better Quality.

Now I actually have not a real issue, but I noticed that the channel changing times are way better with VMR9 (1-2 secs) than with EVR and (only) sometimes it takes about 10 secs. to change to a specific channel.

Is this a known issue, or is EVR simply not finished with the new tsreader?

Can I supply logs or something?

    cheers
