Update,

Got it to work with MP1.0.2 and MPStandbyHandler, where I restart the device and restart both server and client on resume. It takes a few seconds extra on resume but atleast it is working.

in current version you won't need mpstandbyhandler anymore. At least I don't, and I do very frequent suspend/resume without restarting service or mp ;)

    Hi,

I've the 1.1 beta + latest svn running on an Zotac ION with a S3650CI connected (WIN7 64bit). Beside the channel change sometimes freezes, the Resume from Standby doesn't work without using the MPStandbyHandler by restarting TVservice & Mediaportal. I've tried w/o init SAT device - wait more seconds before device init - no help.

Maybe there will be further investigation on that issue

    Regards

    Joe

    Hi Morpheus,

my setup is not that lucky ;). system goes into hibernation but when it wakes the TT doesn't do much. Setting reinitialize services doesn't do much either (at least: no result) so I created a wakeup script that when wakeup from hibernation it kicks in and does a hard reboot of the system: probably comparable to what MPstandbyhandler does...

will try to generate a test script and resulting logs but just wanted to share ;)

    regards,

    Hi Ruud,

as I mentioned earlier, I have the DVBS2 version - if I stop and start the service from the commandline (and from the StandbyHandler) it works - but that cost me at least 5-10 sec (with a necessary Mediaportal restart too) - which is definitly to much for a acceptable WAF :).

So I'm also interessed in morpheus_xx trick to make them work.

    Regards

    Joe

BTW: Ruud, is the TT Remote supported by MP and if yes - how does your setup look like?

I don't do any black magic here :D For me the PCI based cards are working smoothly without restarting a.s.o.

Maybe there are still issues with USB based cards, first I would check for driver update.

Besides this, without full logfiles I can't help.

    Hi Joe,
I'm not using the TT remote. I have (already for a very long time) the ATI Remote Wonder.
My setup is in my signature and if you search the forum for 'tickets please' you'll find my setup described incl. pictures.

    reagrds,
    Ruud.

Hi Morpheus, your remark triggered me to do some good old googling and I found this link

    article said:
    Problem:
My USB device will occasionally lose connection to the computer, and I have to disconnect and then reconnect my it before it will work. Why does this happen, and how can I get Windows to redetect the device, without having to physically disconnect the device?

    Solution:
This behavior occurs when the device loses power, but the computer does not. For example, often when a computer goes into standby or power-save mode it will often shut down power to the USB ports. Also, this can happen when a computer returns from having been hibernated. In either case, the device is not redetected by the computer and thus you will not be able to communicate with it.

Is this something that we can work with? e.g. make part of 'reinitialise service' (so also remove and redetect USB device?)
In the article it also describes the MS tools to do so, will try later today if I can try if I can do this manually and mak my system work again after hibernation.

    regards,
    Ruud.

You should check your power configuration in device manager, i.e. if you USB controller allows to disconnect/shutdown on idle or suspend.

Maybe this can help to keep your USB on power while suspension.

If the DEVCON way works (your link) you could use MPStandByHandler and do the same thing inside a batch file. At least to get an idea if the device works properly after resume
