Help us to nail down the general problems with some technotrend cards (2 Viewers)

Tried some more channel scanning and now I get a picture at least on some scrambled channels, but it´s not really a good picture - see attachment. I also attached the log files. Did clean ones here which means, that I delete the old logs, startet up MP, switched to a FTA channel and then to a scrambled channel, before I left MP again. As far as I can see it looks like some continuitiy problem.

edit: Updated my Alphacrypt Classic to V3.19 today - no changes.

I see the same 'artifacts' as seen in your picture on my second HTPC. In my case it is due to a slower GPU gforce 6200, on my main client I have a gforce 8500 and I don't have these artifacts.
So maybe this is client related and not related to your TT?

Only have one problem that I cannot reproduce at will.... My tv server is on 24/7 as it is also used for other purposes, every morning I have to restart the tv service in order for the TT to work. I get a time out on PMT (set timeout to 45, no result) and it starts using my analog cards as source.

I cant tell you if it's related. I would look on tswriter.log. But it could be.

So please feel free to test my build from other thread. To be sure, take a backup of your current installation first An uninstall should not be needed.

Using the new hardware at least runs MP smoother. Unfortunately I still got problems with scrambled channels, but as it seems they are MPEG-2 codec related. When I use MPV or DScaler, I will get those artefacts as seen on the picture I posted earlier in this thread, but a good sound. When I try to user PowerDVD6, the screen stays black and there´s no sound. And finally, when I use ReelSoft MPEG-2 Codec, the first frame appears and then it got stuck with no sound.

Any ideas for a codec to use / try?

I use SAF (as found on this forum) in combination with powerDVD 9. This works currently for me for all channels (and movies).
Just a note of advice: when installing and deinstalling codecs, please ensure that you also use filmerit to really clean up the 'mess' these deinstalled /corrupted filters leave behind. My experience is that filmerit is a must have to get a stable configuration when it comes to codecs.

Part of the correct working is also related to video card and driver (also lots of info can be found on this forum / in the SAF thread).

Just an update to this thread: been running TVServer now for 5 days full time, restart via scheduled services on a daily basis the tvservice and disabled 'preload' of the tv tuners in the tvsetup..... still running without error!

Thanks for the info - will try PDVD9 and SAF (together with filmerit). I don´t believe it´s the vga because I tested 8600GS, 7600GS, 6200GT and some more already. Actually non-scrambled channels run as smooth as a warm knife through butter.

Al of a sudden and out of the Blue my TT stopped working on scrambled channels. No changes to setup....

all logs are attached.

this part of TsWriter.Log says it all, but it cannot be true (or my provider is playing me.....)

Just te be sure, this is a normal channel that is part of the base digital package (i.o.w. no sprts or film channel that you need additional subscription for.....)

Hope somebody can point me out.

What I further notices is that all my tv cards including the TT are inaccessable via tvsetup: the just show the correct header on screen but the contents where you can search your channels etc is not dispayed (previous screen is displyed instead).
I have had that before and the only remedy was a complete reinstall.... maybe this has something to do with it?

Those messages are usually sent back by the CAM when you try to descramble a channel without valid subscription (i.e. after channel scan and trying to grab all epg).

Why you get those, I can't really tell you. If it's not caused by epg grabber, maybe some issue with your subscription? You may try removing/reinserting CAM to reset CA

just did some test with the provided DVB appliance from the provider. I get a subscription error. As it turns out now, I had only a two week preview and the smart card needed registration. Because I already have this smart-card lying around for 1,5 year I obviously didn't know any more that I had to register.............

So registration just posted, waiting for reactivation of the smartcard!
