    Yep and like MP1 at least consume more GPU / CPU because of more GUI than MPC-HC, it can be normal to see some difference :)

    I tried Strongene Lentoid HEVC decoder.
    This is interesting! It performs very well here:
    Bunny: Graphstudio: ~22% CPU MP2: ~25% CPU!

    Will test it later on (weeker) HTPC if it can playback my 1080p HEVC converted BD videos ;)

    Hi Morpheus, Lentoid looks good... actually, great!

    I'm wondering if I missed something when I tried it... I did the following:
    1) registered the filters with the included reg.bat;
    2) checked the sample files with GraphStudioNext: in fact, in the 3-boxes graph (file-decoder-renderer) it showed "Lentoid" instead of "LAV" in the second box;
    3) just tried the files in Mediaportal, without setting anything in Mediaportal configuration (under codec and renderer, I see the settings for Mpeg2, h264, vc1, divx/xvid and nothing 265/HEVC related, so I don't where I could put Lentoid as the preferred codec).

    Did I miss something?

    Don't know how it was (is) under MP1.

    Under MP2 you can either set own preferences for codecs or depend on the DirectShow defaults to select filters by their merit (priority). So in MP2 it just works.
    Anyway I will add a config setting to chose HEVC codec :)

    I just tested playback of a 1080p24 HEVC BD rip on my HTPC with the Lentoid HEVC decoder.

    It's amazing, it is able to decode and playback video without frame drops at 24fps in MP2 :D (y)
