    Hi :)

I assume you want to use Shares view inside MediaPortal otherwise you would have used the Video DB editor inside MP Configuration?

For shares view, this OLD OLD post might be helpful, but a lot of work for lots of video clips...
The basic idea is to create an xml file for every video with certain tags containing your description.

I suggest you try it out, but I am not convinced it is usable on a system with potentially hundreds of home video clips.

thx exactly something like that I was looking for, sure it'll take time but it's worth it :) but can you tell me where I put the .xml files? tried in the same folder as the video file but doesn't seem to work

    Yap, same folder.

    Example:

    video1.avi
    video1.xml
    video2.avi
    video2.xml

You got your naming like that and it does not work?

Hi. I was probably being a bit fast and loose with my terminology. I meant "somewhere within the files that MP2 uses in its database". 4.5 is really old. I'm not sure 4.5.5 even is a version that actually existed. You should be able to install .NET Framework 4.8.0 on Windows 7 SP1
