Whenever I record something, it ends in .ts format.

But I need mpeg format so my Ps3 can play the files.

How I do that please?

AW: How can I record to MPEG format?

Hi.
The .mpg Container isn't streamable during recording so if MP uses this it will not be possible to watch a video during recording. The .ts Container has mpeg2 (on SD TV) Video Streams in it, so it can be easily remuxed to .mpg. Sometimes it works if you simply rename the files to .mpg, but this is not guaranteed.
A program to do this de- (re) muxing (it takes not longer than to copy the file) is ProjectX. There you can create .m2p witch is compatible to .mpg so you can really rename it if PS3 doesn't recognise those .m2p. With ProjectX the stream will be corrected as DVB streams always have lots of errors in. And you can do cutting (remove ads) during remuxing so the filesize will decrease...

Re: AW: How can I record to MPEG format?

Ok thanks.

BTW, how can I MINIMIZE Mediaportal, so I can record a TV show and still work on my Deskstop?

It's not necessary to run MP Client during recording. Recording is done by TV Server with always run invisible in background. But if you want to have MP running, so you can minimize it like any other Windows program.

This is for the tvserver, the iptv part. It used to only support m3u files containing all the channels, but now you can use a m3u8 too. Usually you get an m3u8 from your iptv provider, but there are also some that can be found on the internet

I have recently installed MediaPortal 1.37 (x64) and MP-TVSeries v4.5.1.697 and unfortunately the TV episode runtime duration is missing in my Titan skin. This only applies to my .TS files, my .MKV files are OK. I believe the difference is likely to be because .MKV files embed the runtime in the file unlike .TS files. I have done...

This is one of the top search results for WMC having stopped working; thanks everyone for the useful information! My shell scripting skills are very rusty these days, so for those like me who are still rocking Windows 7's (or some later version of) WMC, I thought I'd post the (rather hacky) Python script I'm using as a drop-in...

MP1 MP2 MP2 - V2.5 MP2 wont read DVDs! DE
I bought Fight Club from an op shop (Goodwill to you yanks) but my PC reads the DVD as a folder. Both media players wouldn't run it, so I tried running it in MP2. However, when I play it, MP2 crashes to desktop (I think the debug log said it was a "fatal exception" or something). Can anyone please help?
