how to access the recently added movies by remote? (1 Viewer)

hi
in homescreen or home basic:
when a new movie or series is added, in the upper right corner a small windows pops up and tells you what has been added recently.
my folks and i really like this feature

than i have to move the mouse over the small windows and click,to get too the movie or series.
but
we try to avoid the keyboard and mouse to be use with mediaportal.
so how can i do this with my remote?
I have the same problem with the small current playing window :-(

There is no support to launch recently added movies from basichome screen just yet. you need to enter moving pictures and then enter recently added.

Maybe we can allow the user to map remote control buttons 1,2,3 or others to the movie inquestion? So when movies is selected, user could press 1 to play the most recent movie.

That would be pretty cool if it were possible to implement such a way to play those recently added TV shows / Movies from BasicHome. I think mapping 1, 2, 3 button to the remote to select the movie / tv show episode sounds like it could be a great way of doing it.

Do those shortcuts work only when music is playing or are always available? Because I can handle the case if there is something playing?

They work on the basic home screen at any time (ie not just when music is playing) the 1-9,0 buttons launch a defined playlist using onebuttonmusic. The 'p'/play button also launches music using one button music.

I personally only use 'p' to launch 100 random tracks with star rating >1, but other may use 1-9,0 buttons.

Well, at first may just add support for 1-3 and allow users to disable that in GUI settings. Besides I would only launch the recent movie if movies recently added was visible as well..so you should be able to use your 1-9 for one buttom music when other items are selected.

Later on we can make the buttons customizable.

It would be cool if you could map the "Play" button to act to ALL of the "latest" objects on the Basic Home screen. Imagine you press Play instead of OK when Music is selected, and you are automatically taken to the "recently added" filter of the Music Database, or for TV-Series, the recently added episodes etc.

This would only work if all of these plugins would support that argument though.

I'm kind of sad seeing that development has been split regarding recently added items.

1. InfoService (was first to introduce the concept and was supported by TVSeries)
2. StreamedMP plugin added recently added movies, using new, bit more open architecture of MovingPictures
3. FanartHandler added the rest (recently added music and recorded TV).

I would much rather see one plugin for recently added items than duplicating the code and functionality. It's confusing for users and skinners.

Agreed. But I think that MP TV-Series and Moving Pictures should be responsible for delivering the needed content.
