Hi,

Originally when I installed Mediaportal on the HTPC I answered No to "I will be wacthing HDTV". How I can receive channels on the DVB-T net that is encoded in MPEG4. Some of the channels are SD and some are HD. BTW I live in Denmark (Any Danes out there?) and the SD channel current using MPEG4 is G-TV and from sunday the first HD channel will be DR HD. If any Dane is look in here, I did update the frequence table to include all the MUX (1 to 5) on the Hove transmitter.

When I scan for channels in Mediaportal it only finds the MPEG2 channels. My new MPEG2/MPEG4 SD/HD TV finds also the G-TV channel that is using MPEG4.

What do I need to do in Mediaportal in order to get it to find the MPEG4 and later HD channels? I have selected the DivX h.264 as h.264 codec but that did not help.

Is there some setting I need to set, as I originally answered No to "I will be watching HDTV"?

TIA
Jesper

Hi,

I don't know why you can't find the channels, but I found out that I can not use Divx 264. I get sound but no picture. The solution for me was to get CoreAVC decoder. Now I can se MPEG4 channels and DR HD.

My DVB-T card is Hauppauge HVR 1100.

Hope it can get you in the right direction.

@ JesperW

I had to manually add the new freq. (found here) to the dvbt.xml file in the C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters\ folder.

I have attached my file which works in Copenhagen. If you live somewhere else you might have to change the freq. accordingly.

Hey. Hope it is okay if i post a related question aswell in this thread.
I am from denmark aswell and have also just recieved a bunch of new channels. The DR HD channel appears just fine when im using coreavc as h.264 decoder, however the other channels that are using MPEG4 and being broadcasted in SD-format are shown in a very small format and the picture quality is rather bad, did any of you manage to solve this?

Best regards
Peter.

    Hej JesperW

Fik du det til at virke?
Jeg har forgæves søgt efter de nye mpeg4 kanaler i dag, men TVserver finder ingen.
    Hvor har du ændret/tilføjet frekvenser?

    Hilsen

    Divx 7

Divx 7 should also playback the h.264 format.
Havent tried it - it plays fine with fddshow here.

But thnx for the xml file - it did the trick, now I can see the "new" channels.

Divx 7 should also playback the h.264 format.
Perhaps - but it doesn't wok for me.

    The easy way:
    CoreAVC pro 1.9.5 works - 15 us $

    from another thread:
That depends on where you get the signal from. My guess is that you either get ít from the air (DVB-T) or cable (DVB-C).
    I use DVB-C and found a used FireDTV-tuner card.

The Mpeg4-part of it is a software issue. So just buy a good tuner and a good Mpeg-4/H.264 codec. I use CoreAVC. It costs around 75 DKK.

And the last question: You need a tuner for each channel you wan't to see/record concurrent.
