    Introduction

Today we see more and more hybrid tv cards on the market.
A hybrid Tv Card (or stick) is a card which has 2 or more tuners but
where you can only use 1 tuner at the same time.
An example of a hybrid card is a card which has an Analog tv and DVB-T tuner.
You can use either one, but you cannot use both simultanously.
Sadly under windows a hybrid card is represented as 2 seperate cards.
In the above example this means you will see an analog card and dvb-t card.
When you do nothing the tv-server therefore just sees 2 cards and does not know
that in reality this is a hybrid card where you can only use 1 of the 2 tuners

Hi Frodo - I look forward to test the new tvengine - this will probably help all us which try to use the Hauppauge HVR 3000 (hybrid card with analog, DVB-T & DVB-S) - as far as I can see it can only use one of the tuners at a time - when I install the current tvengine, I have to stop and start the "tuners" under manual controle when I have used the first tuner (which defaults to DVB-T) - and this is probably because the previous channel scan has "locked" the tuner - or what can cause this?

    best regards /ti

    Hi Frodo,
There have been a number of posts in the Forum which describe problems when using the hybrid support. My own experience was that if I setup my card as hybrid then the dvb-t part did not seem to be used for recordings etc. Removing the card from the "hybrid" group and disabling the analogue "card" fixed things for me. The folowing link gives another example...
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/found_channels_but_can_t_watch_unknown-t21513.html?t=21513
Not sure if this is a general problem, but a few people seem to have seen it...

Hope this post is ok just wanted anyone using this to be aware of a potential problem.

I'm having the same problem with a KWorld 210 Hybrid card... with a bit of searching...

The first one is most interesting it gives us that the bug was introduced slightly before build 13239, is there anywhere I can download versions before this? That way I would be able to test and pinpoint which release caused the bug.

    Hi Frodo,
This card does not show (BGT3540 :: 6 in 1 :: Dual digital satellite, Dual digital terrestrial, Dual analogue terrestrial :: PCI express card). Is there any chance of support for this card?. The dvb-s and dvb-t use standard BDA drivers. It is the ideal hybrid card for Ireland where we are currently trialling dvb-t including hdtv and have access to the UK satellite channels
    Many thanks
    Jim:)

    Config freeze

I have a LifeView duo card. when I try to configure the analog for some reason the config program for tv server freezes on the analog details - they do not change even when clicking on any of the other options such as tv channels in the left hand column... why does this do that - is Analog no longer supported?

    I can confirm.

With Vista 32 Ultimate (not MCE configured) and Avermedia Hybrid PCI-E Speedy, analog can't find any chanel (Avermedia software can).

Also, the analog panel in MediaPortal TV-Sever remains locked. If i change from the left tree the tiitle changes but the tabs are the correspondig to the analog card configuration (channels scan). I can change between the two analog configuration tabs and the buttons are responsive but it remains if I select another option from the left. Ok and Cancel also doesn't do nothing, but i can close the windows with the X (or Alt-F4).

I tested making a group, not making, disabling the digital dba receiver, etc.

    TV-Tunner: AverTV Hybrid PCI-E Speedy
    MediaPortal Version: 1.0 final
    MediaPortal Skin: Blue 3
    Windows Version: Vista Ultimate SP1
CPU Type: Intel Core Duo 7300
    HDD: Seagate 500 Gb
    Memory: 4 Gb
    Video Card: ATi Radeon HD4450
    Video Card Driver: Catalyst 8.12
Sound Card: Realtek HD Audio (integrated)
    Remote: Avermedia Remote (not working)
    TV: Philips CRT
    TV - HTPC Connection: S-Video

OK. It's resolved installing the WinDVR 3 program. Avermedia comes with video and audio compressors, but the audio one is ac3, not mpeg2. So, MediaPortal not works because it's missing the audio part. Installing WinDVR resolved it. It's bizarre, but the missing audio compressor is breaking the setup gui.

That really works. I had the same situation with that card under XP SP3

Please how do I setup elgato eyetv hybrid with Media Portal? I chose TV-Server Configuration and I see 5 choices beneath TV Servers so I choose 4 ATSC Eye TV Hybrid ATSC. I am not sure about the Tuning Mode or QAM tuning frequencies, but I scanned all the channels. Then I open MediaPortal, but I still could not watch any channels.
