HVR-1300 + Hauppauge remote problems - fixed (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Flip: When it was resolved, did you have a fresh install or an upgrade?

Its a CVS update from RC2. The update of mediaportal-cvs-01-07-2006--13-02.rar solved my crashings. It was a heavy crash to reboot before.

Spif: Your DVB or your analog recordings? DVB cannot be changed by MP, this is set by your provider.

Analog quality settings do also not seem to work for my PVRs, if I let it stay on "standard" (should be "medium"). But if I change it manually to "medium" for a recording, this works.

So, only standard as setting does not seem to work.

guys its not just an hvr1300 issue... it effects a few other people also so your not alone. we have also had an instance of the error with no remote added so we are just trying to trace things back and find out the common factors involved. please bear with us as its a bit of a wierd bug. oh and remember the software is still in beta :wink: but im sure you knew that anyway

Ok, good to know that we're not alone with this issue FYI the remote worked until some release in begining/mid december but I'll guess You're already aware of that.

Anyway, keep up the good work with this tremendous software!

I also installed the new drivers you mentioned earlier and they seems to work. Do you mean you can use the Hauppage remote with the MCE remote enbled in MP? Do you have MCE installed or is it XP? It doesn't work for me anyway

I'm not sure if they solved the problem with recording/bitrate in v2.4, but the DVD-profiles in WinTV2000 works, but try the Mpeg2 12mbit/sec profile and the bitrate won't go above 5mbit. Is it the same for you?

No I don't have MCE installed, I just enabled MCE remote in MP and noticed that it worked. Haven't looked into the mapping though. Enable MCE and then open MP. Now use the remote and press the "Ch" button down. Pressing "Vol" or "mute" will close MP. Have fun! haha jk... Maybe you can map the buttons from MCE to Happauge remote, but I haven't looked in to it.

5teve: Does it help at all, that if I don't close MP after it crashes and I set focus on the MP window, I can control MP with the Hauppauge remote, without a problem. My point is that the remote works, but somewhere during start-up, MP crashes.. Isn't that strange?
