I can't add tv series to database (1 Viewer)

Check the naming of the files.
Since its a mini-series they might be named something like band.of.brothers.partII.720p.mkv or similar (The Pacific is also named similarly) and if they are indeed named like that you either need to rename the files (best option because its a one time fix) or manually add the episodes (manual handling takes time and is boooooooooring and if your db dies for some reason, you'll have to do it all again).
I recommend renaming the files to something in the style of band.of.brothers.s01e02.720p.mkv because the plugin will automagically find them and add them and as a bonus, if you're unlucky and lose your db they will be equally easy to re-add the next time around.

I don't know about MP2 but as you said you tried MP1 too, how is the MP music config ?
MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
If you you don't have multichannel music you can choose WASAPI as the output and set the number of speakers to stereo.

FYI, you can also play with these settings: show TV Server Configuration shortcut => Right-click => Properties => Compatibility => Change High DPI settings
That way you don't have to change the whole scaling of Windows just for this particular application
