    Beats per minute

Just recently I searched for some solution for quick playlist generation. During my search I stumbled upon a tool that analyzes the music for the beats per minut (bpm).
So I thought I try it and fill this hence neglected id3-tag.

I am not sure, if this will really be of any help for my playlist topic.
Anyhow, I thought this might be another rather unique feature for MPTagThat. As it seems, no Tagger can fill these tags. Probably most usefull for techno, trance etc. lovers

    -------------------
The program I used is mixmeister

MixMeister Free Stuff :: BPM Analyzer

it is a one purpose application, analyzing bpm and writing the result into the tag. No overhead.
    -------------------
A good (and topical) overview about the existing bpm programs and tools i found here:

    BPM Detection information
    -------------------
There is also a freeware library BPM Detection library
    BPM Detection Library
the licence should be free, but last update was 2007, and I am not sure about pop-ups or if the library can anylyze in a batch or only when playing the songs.
    -------------------
There is also an actively developped open-source alternative. Indeed this is a complete mix program for djs.
But maybe it is possible to isolate the bpm part. The project is C++ i think.
Mixxx | Free Digital DJ Software

It seems not to write the bpm to the tags, but that is probably not difficult to add.

Import genre tags e.g. from last.fm

O.K., here is another suggestion. This would be of really good use for me personally.

In the meantime I have a really good tagged music library.
One tag I allways neglected since is the "genre" tag.

With mp I use last.fm and scrobbling and this works perfect. But now I' got one of these 120GB Ipods for my car and need some decent playlists.

    Now here is the suggestion:

Add a function/plugin whatever to get the 5 top tags for an artist from last.fm and store these as multiple genres in the genre tag.
It would be something like a tag-cloud and would allow some advanced playlist generations. And save weeks of manual editing :)

What do you think about this?

Your Case Conversion part needs a little work. You already have the Exceptions in place but they should be overridden by e.g. Capitalize First Letter ('the' should be lower case but not if it's the first word in the name or title.

Please have a look at this page which describes the correct capitalization rules Capitalization Rules for Song Titles

most people have their music as

    c:\music\%artist%\%album%\filename.mp3

    720P / 1080P fan art scraper

    store artist fanart as

    c:\music\%artist%\folder.jpg

I'd appreciate that! That would be a great feature!

In addition to TomTom21000s request for

    - BpmAnalyzing i would like to have a
    - Normalizing, nut not only limit/gain to same level, better like "MP3Gain", which does a really good job. To be found here: MP3Gain, and an option for
    - converting to mp3 with "CBR" (192, 224, 256, 320)

    Thx

I like this programm. It works very good.

To make it easier to work I miss the next things:

    In the TAG window:
The option to select a map with sub-maps 1)
This is handy for cd-sets. eacht cd is often located in a seperate sub-map.

    In the Rip/conversion-setup:
Add more parameters. These parameters work well with ripping, but with conversion I miss the <D> parameter.
The option to copy pics to the converted maps.

    edit:
    1)oeps.... it exists :sorry:
