Just a wish:;)
After renumbering a selection with the "automatisch nummerieren" button the number there is set to the next number.
After switching to the next cd/directory the numer is not set back to 1 - would be better for me - because i forget always to set to 1 sometimes my track number starts with 67:D

will make an option, cause sometimes that is you would like to have.
e.g. if you want to have continous numbering of multi disc albums. you first number disk1 and then you move to the disk2 folder, then you want to have it.

but with an option, you could do that

yes, that's the correct way. but sometimes it may be done differently.
so, yeah most probably it's best to reset the number to 1 on folder change

    Hi hwahrmann,
I like MpTagThat very much and I used it to update my MP3 collection. :D :D :D
Now I have two problems (maybe ideas for new releases):

    1) I'm going to be crazy for WMP 12 rating tags (WMP 12 does no read my old WMP ratings and I can't see where WMP 12 store the new ratings). Do you know? Is there a way to update from MpTagthat ratings to WMP12 ratings?

    2) Usually I rip and edit everything using MpTagThat but if I want to see album arts (stored inside every mp3) in iTunes, I need to open and save all files using mp3tag (maybe mp3tag read and re-write some tag in a different way?)

I know that MP 1.1 is now in high priority (I'm waiting for it!) but this, I hope, could be useful for you...

    Thanks :D

couild you please upload a file where you have added WMP 12 ratiungs as well as a file that you have modfied with mp3tag.

please use a free file hoster and PM me the link.

btw. Make sure that you write id3 v 2.3 tags. itunes doesn't understand v 2.4 tags.

I noticed that the file's date and time has not changed... it seems that WMP12 does not update the file.
    I will try...

    Ok.

Comfortable way to multiple genre tags

    Hi Helmut,

    here is another feature idea:

The genre tag is the last tag in my collection that needs some polishing.

I'd like to use multiple tags. My collection is too big to handle this manually. So I looked all over the net in order to find a possibility to use the top tags from last.fm for the genre.

The best solution I found is a plugin for musicbrainz picard called last.fm plus

    http://tiptoes.hobby-site.com/mbz/lastfm/lastfmplus.html

It does pritty much what I want to do and has a lot of options including number of genre tags, whitelist blacklist etc.

    It is a python script.

The downside is that I have to use musicbrains picard to use it, which might ruin some of my carefully tagged songs. It gives you no control which tags should be updated and Musicbrainz is terribly slow.
    -----------------------------
Would it be possible to use the script for mptagthat? Don't know what script language is needed.
Or maybe it could be "wrapped" somehow or ported?

What do you think? Anyone else would like to see this feature?

    Hi Tomtom,

should be no problem converting the script.
However the site seems to be down. can't download anything or look onto the forum or tutorial.
    out for a week now.

will try again when i'm back.

    regards,

    Helmut
