From what I remember it went like this..
    -install 1.3b (fresh install)
-install plugins from mpei app (including imdb+)
-restore movpic and tvseries databases (maybe I did more here like imdb files but I dont remember doing that)
-set imdb+ to update on mepo start in myextensions
-tweaked imdb+ settings in default wide (then returned to titan)

Its strange because when I went in to movpic to enable debug logging to give you a log file, it was already enabled and I never enabled that so maybe somehow my backup of the database had it enabled when I took it. So yes theres a bug that updating never takes place with debug enabled.

So thats the prob, mpei is old and debug prevents updating (which I didn't know was happening). I'll check this all out when I get home. Thanks for looking into it.

And that file was popping up in early problems with permissions issues. I had a really strange problem one day when I was creating folders and moving files around via remote desktop a couple week back where it was ignoring parent folder user permissions. Probably that, will have to look into it. WHS2011 & Microsoft for you :/

Thanks Rochess[DOUBLEPOST=1356323758][/DOUBLEPOST]Just to add to that, all I thought I restored for imdb+ was the custom rename file, the one the user can edit. But I'll checkout the timestamps for the files when I'm at the machine.

I don't know whats happening here but (tested in default wide as no skin for titan).. IMDB+ is saying its scraper version 4.0.1, scraper last updated 24/12/2012 05:21. In the hidden menu it says Update Available at the bottom, clicking it does nothing. If I restart MePo, everything is the same, it says its updated, but its still saying scraper version 4.0.1.

I suppose I'll have to try reinstalling.

Uninstalled using the mpei and then installed 2.0.0.281 stable.

Fired up MePo and this is what I see.. says its updated right now (MePo startup) but its still on 4.0.1 scraper (also no update indication at the bottom of the menu)? Screenshot and logs attached. Thanks

Ok, guess it was not clear from my previous answer.

You have Moving-Pictures scraper-debug mode enabled. You need to DISABLE that inside MovPic.

That is the one setting preventing IMDb+ from properly installing new version. It should work, but sometimes it doesn't. If you disable the advanced setting inside MovPic, then it will work (you just have to relaunch MePo GUI then for IMDb+ plugin to work.

MovPic setting can be found at: http://code.google.com/p/imdbplus/wiki/WikiInstallScraper

Sorry, I did understand. I did go in and turn it off and the bug icon was off when I closed MovPic config (ie it was green when I went in, and when I disabled, it went grey). I did that then restarted MePo and it still didn't update. Then admittedly I just reinstalled imdb+ and started up MePo then took the screen shots above without checking it was still off.

Maybe I didn't select the scraper before disabling, is it enabled per scraper? That or for some reason my MovPic is stuck on debug.. If it carries on, I'll bug fforde regarding why MovPic is playing up.

I'll remote in now and check if its not gone to sleep already.[DOUBLEPOST=1356331816][/DOUBLEPOST]Please see attached photo. I just logged in and went to the config and its already disabled..

Just now (after taking desktop.png) restarted MePo, went to the Plugins -> IMDB+ (you can see from the time in skin and time on the computer that I've just done this) and it says its updated, but its still at 4.0.1. Second screenshot (desktop2.png) showing this and new logs attached.

    EDIT--
I see this line in my latest log:
    Code:
24-Dec-2012 06:51:47 Debug [ DatabaseManager]: UPDATING: DBSetting: Skinners Debug Mode = "False"

also further in the logs it mentions parsing IMDB+ 4.4.6 which is the latest?

doesn't that mean the debug mode is indeed off and it still didn't update the script? Is there a delay in the updating of the script? for example, does it take more than 2 minutes after opening MePo for the script to be updated? maybe I am being to quick to open MePo and take these screen shots?

I have been looking at manually updating, its mentioned in an early post that the lastest script is always availble here - https://code.google.com/p/imdbplus/source/browse/#svn/trunk/Scraper%3Fstate%3Dclosed but I can't find any files named '*imdb*' or '*scraper*' that I can relate to that xml file in the Mediaportal folders in ProgramData or Program Files. Whats the file name I need to manually update?

Additionally I looked at the imdb+.log and it says its not updating as it already has the latest version..

    Code:
12 11:07:34[Check for Updates][24][Info] Checking for scraper update
    24/12/2012 11:07:34[Check for Updates][24][Debug] Downloading file from: [URL]http://imdbplus.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/Scraper/IMDb+.Scraper.SVN.xml[/URL]
24/12/2012 11:07:35[Check for Updates][24][Info] Updating paths in scraper script
24/12/2012 11:07:35[Check for Updates][24][Info] Finished updating paths in scraper script
24/12/2012 11:07:37[Check for Updates][24][Info] Skipping update, latest version already installed.

If I knew the file I could also check to see if this was indeed the case.

    Thanks

    It's inside the MovingPictures database.

Ok, try last resort solution. When you uninstall IMDb+ plugin it doesn't remove IMDb+ scraper-script, which is why a reinstall in your case didn't fix it.

So go to that dialog you have open in 1st screenshot, as in: Open MovPic config -> Import settings -> manually manage scraper-scripts -> open the details node one -> select the IMDb+ scraper-script -> use the drop down options on the '-' toolbar icon and delete it.

Then open MePo GUI and the IMDb+ plugin should reinstall the IMDb+ scraper-script and go straight for the current v4.4.6 version. Verify via "IMDb+ Info..." that it finally works.

The '+' is what you can use to manually add it, but if you manually add it from that link, then the IMDb+ scraper system is totally broken as well, because it expects all the setting files to be in C:\ root folder, so all your custom options, and the rename system are killed off then. You would have to edit the scraper-script first to replace C:\ with where your settings are stored, such as "C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\IMDb+\" or something (verify on your system).

Deleting the script fixed it, got the dialogue in MePo and it took the latest script. Must of been something I did when installing initially and didn't notice it wasn't approving anything?! Thanks!

    Happy new year everybody (y)

    IMDb+ scraper-script v4.4.7 released.

This should hopefully increase auto-approval matches for non-US users. I was working on a much better system to fix this problem once and for all (using Google to bypass IMDb search system), but that is taking me much longer to create and test. So in the meantime, I've removed (year) from the IMDb search, which seems to work better for non-English title matches. This does mean an extra delay for US users as adding the year could instantly find the correct movie and now the search system has to always be used. On the other hand any user looking for the fastest results should simply include the IMDb tt-ID in the filename or provide it via NFO (with the basic NFO option enabled) as it skips the entire IMDb search system then.

Finally, to make it a little bit easier in solving issues, I've also adding more logging to movingpictures.log in the search node, which will hopefully make it easier to fix future issues.

    IMDb+ scraper-script v4.4.8 released.

Improved AKA match results for the new IMDb search system. It does this by forcing an AKA title scrape for the first movie result provided by IMDb website. This ensures that Moving-Pictures will be able to auto-approve the match as filename-title will match the AKA title then.

So at cost of small delay it will improve things a lot for foreign users and for movies that get their titles changed during release to video/etc.

    IMDb+ scraper-script v4.4.9 released.

Compensating for Moving-Pictures weird new auto-approval behavior as reported by a few users. Even with IMDb tt-ID provided in filename and/or NFO, it seems IMDb+ now all of a sudden starts getting skipped over as the scraper-script used to obtain the info. This mainly occurs when the IMDb title differs from the filename title, which can happen quick with IMDb localized/original title system. So to compensate, I'm simply forcing the filename title to become one of the AKA titles when IMDb tt-ID matching is used.
