    Hi RoChess,

Any idea when we might see an update?

I'm doing 60+ hour work weeks currently and this is spread over 7 days a week, which allow me to fire up MePo forum once in a while and spend 5 minutes here and there to tackle quick fixes, but not allow me the major time investment I need to tackle the IMDb+ rewrite :( The free time that is left is spend relaxing via the user side of MediaPortal alongside time spend with wife and friends.

Unfortunatly due to the nature of things there is no way for me to know when I'll be back to a more normal 10 hour work week, which are ideal then to work on large hobby projects such as IMDb+. If all fails I usually can look forward to somewhat of a break around Christmas, but I'm hoping to have wrapped up a lot of work projects before then as well, just no idea if clients will drop more work in my lap. Got my eyes set on finally going digital with my TV via 55" LED and perhaps even 7.2 for sound with prices always low around BlackFriday, so I'm not hating the onslaught of work as my gadget fund is growing faster then normal.

So what I had in mind myself was that if before Christmas I can get work down to 30-40 hours a week and keep weekends free, that I'll look at improving the existing code and if for some miracle work drops to 10-20 hours a week the full rewrite is back on the table. Till then it is just down to looking at small bugs, such as the Icelandic language bug currently and updating the rename database with new movie series/renames.

Wish I had better news, but as a freelancer things are just never predictable.

I seem to have a problem with my setup that IMDB is often used in preference to IMDB+ , this is for movies that I add to my movies folder that have not required any manual intervention to scrape. Is this normal behaviour do a need to enter the IMDB+ plugin to refresh newly added movies to get the to switch over to IMDB+ or should they automatically be scraped using IMDB+ by Moving Pictures?

There are a few situations in which MovingPictures decides your scraper-list order is wrong and it places the default imdb.com scraper back at the top. Fixing the MovPic code itself is not in my reach, but with the awesome help of damienh; he came up with a workaround to simply test again if IMDb+ scraper-script is still #1 upon entering of the IMDb+ plugin.

You can also verify the position of the IMDb+ scraper via the hidden menu option "IMDb+ Info..." and look for "Scraper Position: First"

So to answer your question, yes new movies should automatically be added, but it can happen where IMDb+ is pushed away from being your primary scraper and then things go wrong. The reshuffling of scraper-script positions does not happen often though, and usually is linked to like running an update on MovPic or making certain configuration changes. It is annoying for sure, but entering the IMDb+ plugin should at least give you a warning with instant dialog yes/no way to fix it. Movies that already then got imported with a wrong scraper-script, can be corrected via the hidden menu option "Force IMDb+..." which will allow you to select which scraper-script imports to convert.

Workarounds suck, but at least it has been made as easy as possible and all you really have to do is open IMDb+ plugin after you do a MovPic update.

    or you can do this

    movpic_config-jpg.113239

Unexpectedly IMDB+ was only 3rd on the list.

Yes, that is the manual way, but IMDb+ plugin should have detected, notified and offered a prompt to allow you to fix it when you entered IMDb+ plugin from within MediaPortal (GUI not config). Either way glad u got it solved, but now I'm going to have to do more testing to see what caused it. Did this start after you did an upgrade of MovPic to v1.4?

Weird, going to see if I can recreate it on a new box that I'm building.

maybe if you do not have manually manage data sources collected, ie. it is greyed out it prevents imdb+ from changing the scraper order or prevents the scraper order from sticking.

I'd imagine on the machine that you are using the option is not currently greyed out.

    v4.3.9 released.

Rush fix on the search node to compensate for IMDb new search system.

IMDb+ plugin should automatically update the IMDb+ scraper-script within 24-hours to v4.3.9 or you can force it by adjusting the IMDb+ settings to check for updates on startup and then restart MediaPortal. The AKA system now relies heavy on the quality of the new IMDb search system, so please report back to me any folder+filenames combinations that are not auto-approving.

Did not get around to also finish the acronym rename system for movie-series, so you can have "LOTR III: The Return of the King" shown in the list. I had begun some work on that already, but did not wanted any delay in releasing fix for this critical bug in search system. Wanted to also look at some other small bugs then at the same time such as the auto-language issue reported above, since the acronym improvement requires an update to the IMDb+ plugin to add the additional configuration option.

Might be forced to push those plans into next weekend :(
